While hunting and returning down a trail, the witness encountered a tall brown-haired creature by a tree and stared at it. The creature vocalized, approached after the witness placed a gun on the ground, then walked away. The witness tried to follow but the creature ran off too fast to track.

During deer season in November 2002, the witness was walking a road near Phillips looking for deer when he saw an upright figure coming toward him. He first thought it was a black bear but, viewing it through a rifle scope from about 200 yards, concluded it was man-like and not a bear or human. When the witness crouched, the figure stopped then ran on two legs into an alder swamp, leaping over water and moving quickly through difficult bog ground.

The witness reports driving north on a highway and noticing a gray, hair-covered figure across the river near a creek inlet. After pulling into a turnout, the witness watched the figure repeatedly bend from the hips while appearing to move rocks or forage in the water. The witness was driving on a rural road in the morning when a figure crossed the road ahead. The witness stopped and watched a tall, reddish-brown haired, human-like and ape-like figure standing about 50 feet away facing him for about five minutes. A large upright creature crossed the clearing quickly, causing the moose to flee, then circled to within about 50 yards of the stand. Late at night while driving on a dirt service road for utility work, the witness saw a tall, thin brown-haired creature step into the headlights and cross the road at an angle. The witness watched for about 15 seconds as it took a few long strides between juniper trees before disappearing. After driving away in fear, the witness returned the next day with a co-worker and found widely spaced footprints leading east.

A family staying at a remote pack station heard a high-pitched whooping call for many minutes that seemed to approach and then pass toward a wilderness trail. The daughter went to the access road to meet the caller and saw a large, hair-covered, unclothed being with a long beard, long arms and a big mouth walking quickly past. She said it did not see her and was not vocalizing when seen. The next morning the family found a few possible wide-toed prints in the dust at the spot she indicated.

The witness was fishing from a boat with two young companions on Riffe Lake late in the morning when they spotted a large hairy biped about 150 yards away in a clearcut. On a clear sunny afternoon in August 2002, the witness was commuting to work when a reddish-brown creature with long arms emerged from the woods. The creature crossed the road in about three steps, glanced toward the witness, and continued up the opposite bank. The witness later estimated it at seven to eight feet tall and much bulkier than a 6'1" person.
