A group of teenagers hiked to an abandoned cabin in wooded hills at night. Three companions on the porch reported seeing a tall, dark-haired, hunched figure run across a trail into the woods. The group left immediately and avoided returning to the cabin at night.

The witness was returning at night over Santiam Pass when a creature came out of trees on the left and crossed the highway in front of the vehicle before disappearing into trees on the right. Seen in the headlights, it moved upright with swinging arms and human-like limb proportions, described as a large human-like figure covered in short dark grey hair.

The witness was hunting and walking back to a vehicle when they heard noises in brush and across a field. They crouched in brush and saw a large dark brown creature crouching across the field, which then stood erect, grunted, raised its left arm, and walked back into the woods. The witness did not pursue and left directly for the vehicle.

The witness was deer hunting with a companion in a ponderosa pine forest in the morning, walking separate routes to flush deer. After noticing a fox ahead that repeatedly looked back, the witness looked behind and saw a tall, broad, hair-covered biped about 120 yards away walking down into a wash while looking toward the witness. The figure disappeared into the wash after about 5 to 8 seconds, and the witness continued the hunt without following or searching for tracks.

The witness and a hunting partner encountered a very tall hair-covered figure on a raised railroad bed while walking to their tree stands. They shone a flashlight on it, saw a huge hand raised to its face, and watched it approach to about 25 yards. They fled to a ladder stand, then heard it running and a violent fight with another unseen animal that ended with a splash in the river, after which they waited until daylight to leave.

The witness was riding as a passenger while a friend drove. They spotted a figure running from behind a school and then along a fenced roadside, dropping to all fours to run like a dog. The driver slowed and shone high beams on it as it passed and looked toward them, then it stood up and ran away quickly.
