Something large rose under the canoe and lifted it a foot or two out of the water, and he balanced on its ridged back for a few seconds and saw overlapping large scales in moonlight. It lowered him back down, and he paddled fast to the dock and did not experience it again despite many later trips.

The witness reported driving on a country road when a large creature crossed and stopped in front of the car. After the witness brightened the headlights, the creature approached, struck the car and leaned on the hood while screaming loudly. The witness reversed around it and drove away while still hearing it screaming in the distance.

A creature screamed and ran toward him, then appeared at his truck and climbed onto the bed. He shot it with a .22 Magnum above the eye, it fled screaming, and a large rock later struck his truck on a bridge as he drove out.

Around 3:30 a.m. a human-like face appeared at the window, bared long canines, and violently rocked and collapsed the shell until the men fled at sunrise.

Two people were sitting in a parked car by the lake late at night when they saw a large hairy figure approaching on the road. After turning on the headlights the figure ran into the woods, followed by a strong animal odor, loud crashing and scream-like vocalizations. A log was then thrown with enough force to move their car, prompting them to drive away.

A dark figure crouched by the guardrail stood, raised its arms, then lay down in the lane and the car drove over it. Two friends drove into the Everglades park in the early morning and parked at a pine habitat to nap in their car. They were awakened by an ape-like animal looking into the tinted windows, touching the car, and then rummaging through a nearby dumpster for an extended period while emitting a strong rotten odor. The witness was trying to sleep in a van while two companions slept in a tent nearby. The van began rocking violently from side to side until the witness yelled, then the witness shone a flashlight outside and saw a hair-covered figure walking upright past the vehicle into the forest. A foul cesspool-like odor was noticed around the camp, and the companions said pebbles had been tossed onto their tent and something had brushed against it. The group built a fire, discussed what happened, and packed up to leave early.

The witness motored by airboat at night into an oak hammock to gig frogs and stopped for coffee. After hearing tearing vegetation, ground banging and a loud shrieking scream, large clods of mud were thrown at and onto the boat. Shining a headlamp, the witness saw a huge brown-haired biped about 25 to 30 feet away pumping its arms in an aggressive display, then started the boat and fled to the middle of a nearby lake until daylight and has avoided the spot since.

Two sisters driving home around 2 a.m. reported a very hairy bipedal creature walking in front of their Honda and touching the front of the vehicle. The creature looked directly at them and continued walking slowly with a sideways gait described as limping or injured, showing no fear. The witness estimated its height at about 5 foot 4.

The witness was driving toward the beach at dusk when a large hairy creature stood in the road. The car glanced the creature, then the witness stopped and the creature got up, approached, and chased the car, striking the rear. The witness drove away and later found a dented quarter panel with hair, a shattered spoiler, and a lingering foul smell on the car.

After a day of hiking, the witness and a companion were returning to their parked truck after dark in moonlight when they noticed movement around the vehicle. From about 40 feet away they saw three hair-covered upright figures, two larger and one smaller, which then ran away as the men ran to the truck and drove off. No vocalizations were heard, only the sound of contact with the truck and footsteps in grass as the figures fled.

The primary witness was driving alone at about 50 mph on a highway just after dark when a small bipedal creature ran into the road from the right. He struck it squarely with the center of his grill, knocking it to the roadside, then examined the carcass up close. The body remained overnight until a wildlife officer retrieved it early the next morning with no identification provided. Neighbors and passing motorists also viewed the carcass, which was discussed locally for years.

Around Christmas 1985 a driver was hauling east over Cabbage Hill on I-84 around 1:30 a.m. when a blondish-brown human-like creature crossed in front of the truck. He stopped with it in his headlights about two feet away and watched it for about a minute. It slapped the hood with both hands and then walked and jogged away into the woods, while his co-driver woke only in time to see it leaving.

As a young child riding in the bed of her family's pickup truck at night, the witness woke to her parents panicking while a large black hairy animal chased and gained on the truck. The animal ran on its knuckles, climbed onto the tailgate, and reached toward her with a leathery human-like hand while making a rumbling sound. Her father shot at it, it fell off and rolled, and she then saw a second tall skinny brownish-reddish hairy figure lean over it.

At age twelve on a family road trip, the witness stepped half-asleep out of the truck camper after midnight to relieve himself. A large dark figure sat on its haunches on the path to the river about twenty to thirty feet away, backlit by the moon. After a frozen stare the witness shut the door, heard distinct bipedal footsteps, then a fist-sized rock and a freshly ripped branch struck the camper.
