About 3 a.m. the witness, sleeping in a vehicle, woke to rustling and watched a large dark figure hunched over the picnic table going through bags and trash from about 15 feet away. Companions in tents heard rustling and grunting. In the morning there was no scattered trash, but a charcoal bag showed marks and some contents missing.

The witness was hiking with a group through a field when he hid by a lone tree after hearing movement and saw a tall dark shaggy figure partly concealed at the wood line about 25 to 30 yards away for about thirty seconds. The group went to the spot, found flattened brush and a bent-grass trail, estimated the figure's height against the tree, took photos, and then heard knocking beats and hooting sounds after birds flushed and dogs barked in the distance.

The witness then saw a dark brown leg and face of a creature leaning under a fir limb about 20 feet away. The witness left to get crew members, who returned but saw nothing and all left the area because they felt spooked.

Between 2 and 3 a.m. she heard movement approach her tent and brush against it, while a companion in a truck reportedly felt a nudge and saw a fleeting shadow. The next morning the witness found multiple large footprints around her tent, the trail and vehicles and made a plaster cast of the clearest one. While waiting alone in camp later that day she heard persistent clicking from the woods and felt watched.

A second, louder crash close to camp was followed by a grunt, and the narrator saw a tall gray-furred shape through the tent mesh that fled when lit by a flashlight. They then saw a hair-covered face peering at them through bushes a short distance away, which appeared two more times as they continued. The witness was sleeping in a cabin during a summer camp session when loud nighttime noises caused an uproar. A cabin-mate reportedly looked out and described multiple large, hairy, human-like figures near the water tower and cabins. The next morning the witness saw extensive human-like footprints, a large uprooted tree, and vegetation pulled from the lake. Campers were walked around the perimeter to view the traces and were sent home early.
Eyeshine in Washington
A friend's daughter ran away and slept in her car on a dirt driveway off the same road. She heard noises, looked over the dashboard, and saw sets of eyes and silhouettes standing and squatting in trees. Nearby dogs broke out, chased, and were never seen again.
