Around midnight the witness was with two friends in a small forest near the house when they heard a large branch snap. The witness saw a tall outline about 15 to 20 feet away leaning with one arm against a tree and staring, then it turned and walked toward the road while the witness ran. Companions did not see the figure, and the next day the witness found fresh paths and broken and uprooted trees in the area.

A group of seven hikers were hiking on a mountain trail in the afternoon. They heard cackling, yelping, growling and moaning sounds and found the trail blocked by a large uprooted stump with placed boulders and smashed trees. Two upright figures, one black and one light brown and hairy, were seen moving parallel to the group and leaping down a cliff, while the group felt stalked and watched as they hurried out to the road.

While working at the kayak camp with his small son and dog, the guest noticed the dog growling and staring into the bush. The guest saw only a darker brown shape with long hairs through the cover and then heard something move up the hill. He did not count it as a definite sighting.

Later that afternoon a large hidden animal bolted from behind a knoll toward the treeline as one worker walked past, crashing through tall brush. The writer heard the movement but did not see it; the companion briefly saw only the dark top of its head or back above tall shrubs. The writer interprets the three incidents as one animal trailing them through the day.
