While staying at a farm, two children had a rock tossed at them in a clearing and were herded home by dogs. Over following months they heard screams and knocks, found a large footprint with ridges, a distressed horse, and disturbed hay resembling a nest in the barn loft. In mid-winter the witness saw a curious dark-haired face looking in a basement window, and in spring the father returned from a short walk to grab firearms and forbid solo trips into the woods.

The witness and a companion were walking along a road after sundown when the witness heard movement on an elevated fence row. The witness climbed up to look across a cut corn field and saw a tall slender brown shaggy figure walking along a ditch, which stepped into a ditch bank after being shouted at. They ran back to the companion's house, and the witness returned the next day to find large human-like footprints in lime dust.

After calming down elsewhere, he drove back, noticed paired trails in dew leading into oak woods, and followed them to a tree where a tall hair-covered biped stepped out. Believing he was about to be killed, the witness fired a handgun into its chest at close range; the creature bled from the wound and mouth, stood, and climbed down a bluff toward water, after which the witness left and later found the road closed.

The witness fired at close range into its chest, saw heavy bleeding from the wound and mouth, and watched it clutch its chest, stand, and disappear over a bluff toward the water.

In August 1981 the witness rode a motorcycle up forest roads to a high peak near the North Fork. Near the treeline he uncovered a large old barefoot-like track and later from the summit saw a head-and-shoulders shadow watching from the dark treeline. The shape was gone when he looked back after viewing the panorama, and he rode quickly back down the mountain.

The witness, then a child sleeping in a cabin, claims to have been awakened around 2 a.m. by a deep sneeze-like sound and a strong foul odor. A very large monkey-like head peered into the bedroom window, blocking the light, with huge eyes, a large flat nose, little facial hair and deep nasal breathing. The witness whimpered, the mother entered and the figure left; in the morning plowed vegetation and footprints were reportedly seen.

The witness went outside to retrieve a bicycle. As relatives shouted from the yard and house, the witness saw a slim hair-covered figure with long arms walk past nearby, look toward the witness, and continue into the bush. Relatives searched immediately after and found footprints, from which a cast was made that was later lost.

When the witness was 11, a very tall hair-covered creature stood outside the house window for a few minutes late at night before walking around the side of the house. The next day the witness and a sibling found large footprints around the house and estimated the creature's height from the window measurement. Rain later washed the prints away after they were followed into the woods.

They experienced pebbles and rocks thrown, pacing, huffing, wood knocks, a disturbed fire pit and scattered poles. A large creature then came down the ridge into the creek, growled at them from about 20 yards, and left. A DNR officer later found prints, cast them, and called them bear tracks.

The pair fled down a trail toward camp, and the witness looked back to see a large hair-covered arm and hand reaching out of the brush right behind him before it disappeared. The next day they returned and found indistinct tracks in soft dirt at the bottom of the cliff face.

Near Christmas 1980 the witness was riding a snowmobile with a relative on a forest trail at night when they got stuck. Both smelled a strong rotten-meat odor and then the witness saw a fur-covered bipedal figure about six feet tall run across the trail into the bush. The witness found a large bare footprint where it crossed and bipedal steps through deep powder snow. A parent who arrived later saw the remaining marks and told the witness the figure was a sasquatch.

The witness was home watching a baseball game when a strange noise from the back porch prompted investigation with a pistol. Afterwards the witness found a porch freezer broken into with frozen food scattered, plus white hairs and ground impressions.

A hunting party spent a fall day along a gasline, noticing a putrid odor and a large bare footprint in the morning. In the afternoon two members heard heavy movement circling in brush, and one moved closer and watched part of a tall dark figure step from behind a tree. The observer described a seven-foot-tall heavily built figure with long arms, no visible neck, and reddish eyes. The pair left the area and discussed the sighting on the drive home.

In May 1980 [name withheld] and a friend skied at night up the closed Highway 242 toward Middle Sister to claim the season's first summit entry. They were followed for hours by something screaming, breathing heavily, breaking branches and circling on two legs, forcing them to shelter in a road grader. After it left they found large human-like tracks with toes crossing a creek and in the woods, then abandoned the climb and skied out.

On the second evening at dusk while walking armed along a dirt road, they encountered a very tall dark-haired bipedal figure standing on the road watching them. After a brief staredown the figure turned and walked unhurried into the forest with heavy breaking-branch footsteps, and the next day large footprints were found leading away across a creek.

At a youth camp at night, the witness was inside a dorm getting ready for bed when campers in another dorm shouted about someone outside. Minutes later the witness watched a figure near a dumpster walk toward the dorm and peer in through a window from about 12 feet away for 20 to 30 seconds before disappearing. The next morning a discarded box was found on the ground with large footprints nearby.
