The witness and his father stopped at a clearcut at night and scanned with flashlights, spotting three sets of eyeshine at different heights. The largest figure charged uphill while vocalizing, then moved toward them breaking branches before everything went silent while the two smaller figures watched from the treeline. Around midnight the large figure re-emerged, stepped over a log and walked downhill bipedally with the other two following.

After dark in a large field near the river, the group heard loud screams first from the east and then from the west. Using poor night vision they watched two dark bipedal shapes move across the field toward the river. They locked themselves inside the vehicle and felt and heard something scratching and pushing on its exterior for many minutes; at dawn they found no tracks in the dry ground and learned they had been miles from the assigned site so no scouts had been nearby.

The son reported hearing a high-pitched scream and grunting that the father could not hear. They searched the spot but found no sign, noting an unusual absence of deer and elk sign.

Two people camping near a ravine heard rhythmic steps and saw a pair of large, long black-haired legs walking across the slope about 30 yards away. The companion moved closer but dense trees prevented a view of the full figure. After relocating their tent near other campers, both were awakened around 3 a.m. by heavy pounding nearby followed by three high shrill screams.
