When about 11 years old, the witness was picking rocks in a ditch at dusk with a dog when a tall, hunched, naked entity covered in gray-white matted hair appeared a few feet away staring. The witness screamed, the dog fled toward the house, and the entity screamed back in a loud high-pitched voice before sprinting away up the ditch. The witness ran home and reported a shaggy old man to a parent but was not believed.

While driving in a truck at twilight, the witness and a companion watched a large upright furry figure cross the road in a few long strides and disappear into the trees at the road edge. He prepared to go outside with a handgun to retrieve the outdoor dog but stayed inside after a second roar and a family member's urging, remaining terrified through the night.
Man had deer stolen by creature near Lakehead
A homeowner had shot a deer and hung it in a tree behind the house. That night while going to let dogs out, he heard an unfamiliar scream and saw a large ape-like creature in the yard. The creature seized the deer and fled into the forest, tearing out a stretch of barbed-wire fence and leaving hair and tracks. A friend visiting the next day was shown where it stood and ran, including the tracks and hair.

A military policeman and four squadmates were guarding a burned helicopter crash site overnight in forested mountain terrain. Around 10 p.m. they heard loud howl-like screams from near the wreckage and advanced with a flashlight. They reported seeing three tall hair-covered bipeds scavenging the wreckage and dragging remains, then fired handguns blindly after the light was dropped. They held position until dawn, found no bodies or blood, and left without telling the crash investigators.

In 1985 the witness stood in a large backyard bordering pine forest late in the evening to look for a comet when an extremely loud scream came from the forest edge. While running toward the house the witness saw a very large upright creature standing in shadows at the tree line that seemed to move after the witness slipped. The witness ran inside to report it to a relative and returned the next day to sit in the branch level with where the creature's head had been.

The witness and four companions were camping overnight near a pond when they heard vocalizations and heavy footsteps approaching. The group hid in their tent while something raided their food bag hung in a tree and ate their snacks. The witness peeked out and watched a large hairy biped squatting nearby eating bean dip before it stood and walked away up the trail. At dawn they found the food cache torn down and learned another nearby camp had also been raided.

The witness, then about 12, was deer hunting with his father, brother and uncles at a mountain camp. Over several nights a loud screaming vocalization was heard around 9 p.m. and the uncles repeatedly chased the source uphill. One uncle confronted a very tall hair-covered biped at close range and fired over its head, while later nights brought a spotlight glimpse of a large dark mass, a small 4-foot figure, answering calls from another ridge, uprooted trees and reddish hair tufts, before the activity moved away.

Six coworkers on a seismic crew were eating lunch on a hill when they noticed a dark hair-covered figure moving through timber about 500 yards away. The figure walked upright on two legs with long swinging arms and made muttering sounds before noticing the men, then fled into the timber breaking branches. The men then heard loud screaming and moaning vocalizations from the timber and left the area by helicopter.

Three hunters camped in a river bottom over the opening weekend of bow season. Over several days and nights they reported heavy impacts, rustling, a skunk-like odor, red eyeshine, wood knocks, whistles, talk-like mumbling, a whoop-ending vocalization, and bent trees and branch structures. The most intense moment was a predawn episode with a deep guttural roar followed by a scream-like sound near camp. They left early after smelling the odor again near a plum thicket.

In 1983 the witness was camping and was awakened around 11 p.m. by loud screams repeated every 15-20 seconds that approached through brush. The witness then saw a tall dark shape about 7-8 feet tall striding through undergrowth and yelled, after which it veered to go around and continued on screaming. A foul odor was noticed as it passed, and broken branches were found the next morning.

The witness and girlfriend walked onto a moonlit golf course green late at night. A large tree began thrashing with loud grunts, yells and a lion-like scream. They ran downhill to the car as a tall hairy wide-shouldered creature dropped, pursued and flanked them, and they escaped by driving to town.

While hunting at dawn in the Nestor Peak area in fall 1982, the witness watched a smaller hairy biped notice him, scream and crouch to hide. A much larger similar animal then approached, touched the smaller one, and stared at the witness while breathing heavily, before the two walked uphill. A third slightly smaller animal joined them at the ridgetop and all three disappeared over the hill into the canyon.

A family camping at an abandoned mining camp near a military range boundary was told by military personnel to leave due to an escaped convict, but the personnel left for another call. Shortly after, the father was attacked from behind while the mother drove away with the children after hearing screaming and seeing a monster-like pursuer. The father died, his body was recovered inside the range, and years later the son learned from a supervisor that an escaped non-human entity had killed him.
Rock throwing near Yamhill County (1982)
While staying at a farm, two children had a rock tossed at them in a clearing and were herded home by dogs. Over following months they heard screams and knocks, found a large footprint with ridges, a distressed horse, and disturbed hay resembling a nest in the barn loft. In mid-winter the witness saw a curious dark-haired face looking in a basement window, and in spring the father returned from a short walk to grab firearms and forbid solo trips into the woods.

As children the witness and his older brother were playing near an old cabin on their grandfather's property overlooking the river. The brother pointed out a large hair-covered figure standing by the water about 100 yards away. When the witness shouted, the figure turned, screamed loudly, and ran quickly along the tree line and disappeared. A neighbor rushed the boys inside, and the grandfather spoke with the neighbor in another language and kept the boys from returning to the river, saying the beings were passing through.
