A family of four was camping in the primitive area of a park at night when sticks and possible rocks were thrown from the woods and strange noises were heard. After a loud bang on a nearby wooden outhouse, a witness saw a tall dark hairy figure run into the woods. A responding ranger searched the woods, found no one and no damage, and noted the family were the only campers in that section.

The witness was doing senior photos at a lake with two companions when rocks were repeatedly thrown into the water from across the lake, accompanied by tree knocks and limb breaking. Two boys were hiking and exploring in remote hardwood forest in the afternoon when a rock struck a tree beside them. They looked uphill about 50 feet and saw a dark, roughly six-foot-tall figure watching them intently with a hunched, swaying posture. In mid-summer 1975 around midnight, the witness and three companions were wading the Olentangy River when they heard breaking brush and saw a tall hair-covered biped at the tree line. The figure followed them downstream as they moved, and they heard heavy movement in the water and a howl as they fled to a nearby apartment complex. At the woods edge near the apartments it stopped and stared at them before they ran toward town and abandoned their gear for two days.

After about 45 minutes they heard knocks, whoops, growls and had pebbles and rocks thrown at them. On the hill they saw eyeshine that ducked into grass, heard something following them, and later rocks hit the deck and porch.
