The witness and his brother drove into the woods to meet friends with a Jeep. After noticing unusual quiet and a small rock landing between them, they moved down the trail and stopped. The witness looked down a tree and saw a large dark figure partly behind it, swaying and breathing. His brother told him to get in the truck and they fled without looking back.

Four young hikers ascending the backside of a mountain sensed something following, then saw a small ape-like figure peeking from trees. After two hikers fled and the others followed, the creature circled them, vocalized, beat the ground and threw sticks before leaving when shouted at.
