Two canine handlers were driving separate Tahoes home late at night between Ozona and Big Lake. A large black animal on all fours rushed from the ditch at the lead Tahoe, turned and paced it for 50 to 150 feet at 80 to 85 mph at window height. It lacked a horse or cow-like neck and elongated head, then fell back. The trailing officer saw no detail.

The witness and his teenage son rowed to an isolated wooded shore at night to set off fireworks while family watched from across the water. The witness heard loud huffing and grunting, crashing through brush, and smelled strong body odor approaching in the dense woods. He briefly saw a very large, wide, shaggy human-like silhouette between trees in his flashlight beam. He took his son and paddled away quickly, leaving chairs and fireworks equipment behind.

While cleaning a construction office trailer around midnight, the wife stepped outside and saw a tall hair-covered figure watching from behind a tree about 25 feet away. She stared for a couple minutes as it leaned to look around the tree, then ran inside. The couple checked the area with headlights, saw nothing, waited in the dark, and heard whistling and rustling before leaving. In daylight the next day they found nothing that explained the figure.

After a storm knocked out power, the witness walked a powerline to check for damage and then headed back toward the house. They noticed blinking eye-like lights high off the ground, smelled a musky odor, and made out a large bulky dark shape in weak flashlight light before running to the house. A short time later the witness returned with a brighter light and companions, saw the blinking eyes again in woods beside the house, then heard movement and a throaty howl as it left.

The witness was awakened by barking dogs and went out with a rifle to check the property. Something rushed past in the dark and the witness fired shots, then resupplied and smelled a strong fecal and wet-grass odor. From a rooftop perch the witness watched a tall dark figure by a school bus that looked toward him, crouched, then ran away, accompanied by strange howl-growl sounds from dogs nearby.

After hearing tree breaks, movement, strange noises and heavy footsteps, the witness saw a large red bipedal animal walk along the road. When the witness spoke on the radio the animal screamed and ran away, and two large footprints were later found in silt.

The witness, then 15, was hunting with his father on remote public land in East Texas. On the final evening he heard a loud knock then prolonged screaming directed at him and footsteps circling behind him. A creature stuck its head through brush 20 yards away and stared at him until his father's vehicle approached, when it ran off screaming. He fled, was physically ill for days, and avoided deep woods afterward.

During the night two who were sleeping heard noises and saw a tall figure leaning from the treeline, followed by louder crashing movement circling the camp. She turned and saw a tall black hairy block-built figure staring at her for a few seconds before it stepped sideways into dense forest. Its departure shook trees and flushed birds, and the companions heard the crashing but did not see the figure; the group declined to go ashore to look for footprints.

The witness found a large decayed log apparently moved at the first location and then returned to the truck.

As a boy riding his bicycle home on a trail through the woods on a hot clear afternoon, the witness felt watched and then heard brush thrashing as something kept pace with him. He raced to a more open trail and looked back to see a very tall, shaggy reddish-brown creature with dark bare facial skin standing at the tree line watching him. He reported a horrible stench filling the air and an absence of normal forest sounds, saying the sighting lasted about half a minute and left him avoiding the woods for months.

The witness, then about 11, went with his father to a surveyor's home in deep East Texas and followed the surveyor's young son down a thin trail behind the house to a deadfall. The son gave whooping calls, after which the witness heard approaching footsteps, heavy breathing like a horse, a deep word-like vocalization and a powerful percussive sound, then breaking limbs. The witness fled back to the house as a tall dark figure ran alongside through the brush, stopping when he screamed for his father.

As she grabbed the door handle the whole truck shook violently and she saw a huge dark mass hunched in the bed, taller than the cab. The mass flew silently across the road and railroad tracks while both she and her fiancé watched, and no tracks were found the next day.

A teacher and companions are said to have encountered a tall creature on at least six occasions near an old bridge in Cooke County, Texas. The encounters occurred at night from a vehicle, with the figure seen as a tall silhouette in headlights and heard making threatening noises while moving through brush. On one occasion the creature was described as bouncing a limb, whose height was measured the next day, and daytime searches reportedly found bones in the creek. Shots were allegedly fired at the creature without apparent effect.

It slipped through brush silently, ran up a hill, and made loud branch-breaking sounds that frightened the witness, who waited at the ramp before leaving.

After dogs ran toward the woods and quickly returned, the witness saw a tall two-legged figure with broad shoulders and a round head walk behind the shed. He compared it to his brother and estimated about seven feet tall. Both he and his wife then heard heavy footsteps moving through leaves toward them, which stopped as they talked.
