The witness and a companion were camping in a tent at Alexander Springs. After playing cards until about 3 a.m., the companion fell asleep while the witness lay awake. The witness heard surrounding animal sounds fall silent, smelled a skunk-like odor, saw a tall upright shadow on the tent wall and heard a grunt-like noise. In the morning the coolers had been ransacked, and the pair left the campground early the next night after feeling uneasy.

The guest, a soldier in training, went for an evening run on a straight road through woods on base. Something in the woods mirrored his footsteps and paced him as he ran back, staying about 25 meters away despite his speed. At the edge of the woods near the barracks he heard a tree smashed apart and saw cream-colored legs from the waist down before the figure walked away.

The witness and a companion were parked by a river around midnight under a full moon. The witness stepped a short distance from the car and heard movement in the grass and brush. A tall, broad-shouldered hairy silhouette emerged and faced the witness for several seconds. The witness fled to the car and the pair left the area.

They came around a curve and saw a tall, orange-haired biped standing by the roadside, which then crossed in front of the truck and ran up a steep bank with ease. The witness got out, smelled a foul odor and heard it crashing through brush uphill, and returned the next day to find no trace.

Over three consecutive nights an exchange student staying in the lower level reported a face watching him through the window while working out. The witness and a young relative were walking by a lake at night while camping when they heard a commotion. They watched two very large black upright figures and then a third taller one stripping branches and bark from trees for about 15 minutes from about 125 feet away before running back to their camper. The next day the witness returned to find stripped trees and limbs piled at their bases.

In the fall of 1994 the witness walked into the woods behind the home at night with a flashlight and shotgun to scare deer away. He shone the light on a tall, broad, fur-covered figure standing still in brush whose eyes reflected the light. The figure grunted, yelled and moved toward him, the witness fired three times at close range then fled to the house, hearing it run and give a long loud warbling yell.

When the witness was 11, he stopped to tie his boot while hiking down a mountain trail with family and friends and saw a large black hairy biped downhill about 50 feet away. The creature moved onto the trail to block him, dropped to all fours, made a low bellowing monkey-like sound and curled its lip. The witness fled uphill along the ridge for about two and a half to three hours while the creature paced him at a distance, shook brush and tossed sticks and a small log toward him, and was seen again briefly from the chest up. As rain began the sounds grew more distant, allowing him to return to the trailhead where a search had started, and he told family he had been chased by a bear.

As a young teen running away, the guest walked under a bridge and noticed a tall hairy figure peering around a large pine and swaying. He fired his BB gun, the creature hid grunting, then ran past him as a nearby homeowner shouted. He ran home and later returned with his father, and the neighbor said he saw a small child and a very large figure run off together.

The witness and several friends drove to the top of a desert butte late at night to continue partying. A silent light approached, hovered overhead, and shined a bright spotlight on the group, followed by several orange lights rising from the valley floor into the sky. While driving down, three of them saw a huge bipedal shape cross the road and followed it on foot, getting close enough to hear it breathing before it left silently. At sunrise the two who remained saw several tall slender gray-haired humanoids with yellow eyes peeking from cover and felt they were being escorted off the land.

At age 8 the witness was walking at night near a relative's property, heard a stirring and then low tones, and saw a tall shadowy figure with red-glowing eyes on a steep hillside that slowly backed away uphill. Later that same evening while the family car was paused on the driveway, the witness again saw the shadow and eyes from the window. The family dismissed the account, and the witness reports occasional similar figures, eyes and sounds in the area since.

The witness and his son were walking back to the truck after deer hunting when they saw a tall hair-covered figure come out of a cedar thicket about 50 yards down their path. The figure stopped when they stopped, then stepped back into the thicket and disappeared from sight. They heard something following them and staying hidden all the way back to the truck.
Daylight encounter with firefighter near Skykomish
The witness, part of a two-person wildland fire crew, was descending a steep brushy slope after working a fire when a dropped shovel led him to a rocky ledge with a small cave. He noticed a foul odor at the cave entrance, then saw two rocks thrown from uphill that he concluded the companion could not have thrown. Looking uphill, he watched a dark hairy upright figure moving away through brush for a few seconds before it became still and silent, after which both men left and reported the incident.

The witness and a companion were camping at night when they heard something heavy climbing the bluff toward camp. They fled to the truck and drove slowly past the camp entrance with headlights on. A tall, hairy biped stepped into the road, stared at them, then walked away on two legs. They found larger-than-human footprints and disturbed ground the next day.

Two companions trout fishing walked up an old roadbed paralleling the river and stopped where a gully crossed the road. They heard a loud thud and found a large log across the path behind them, then heard leaves shuffling upslope and saw a very large hair-covered figure standing close by. They fled back to their other companions, then the witness returned with two companions, found a large barefoot-like footprint in mud, but saw nothing else.
Eyeshine in Indiana (1993)
During foggy opening-day gun season the witness waited in a bowl where ridges met and heard something descend. He saw two amber self-illuminated eyes with vertical slits slightly below eye level despite a downhill angle. It then left through woods, conveying a non-aggressive sense of presence.
Daylight sighting by a horseback rider, near a pond in Redwood National Park
The witness was horseback riding with friends and stopped for lunch when crashing was heard in the brush. The witness rode toward the noise to look for elk and watched a small hair-covered creature trying to drink from a pool about 30 feet away. The horse became agitated so the witness left to tell friends, who returned and heard movement and saw ferns moving as something left toward the larger creek. The witness believed the crashing was made by a larger animal accompanying the young creature.

The witness was walking alone during a work break to look for arrowheads when he heard movement and grunts near a creek. He briefly saw a large dark man-shaped figure about 6 to 7 feet tall standing in dense woods before it turned and crashed away. He left quickly and initially tried to explain it as a stray horse.

While walking out on a remote logging road after discovering flat tires, the witness confronted a black bear that kept approaching despite shouting. A large hairy biped rushed down the hill on all fours, landed in the road and slid, causing the bear to flee. The biped then stood, stared, and bluff-charged twice with loud vocalizations until the witness fled on foot and was later picked up by drivers in a pickup.
