They then heard a growl and the man thought he saw a very large person-like outline in the brush. He told his companion to walk to the cabin without running or looking back.

The witness was camping with friends in a Utah canyon and became separated alone in the woods while playing a nighttime game. After hearing a grunt and a deep growl and seeing an arm wrap around a tree, he watched a tall, muscular, thin-haired biped step between trees while staring at him. He fled toward approaching headlights, fell down a drop to the road breaking his collarbone, and was picked up by a passing couple who took him to a ranger station.

The witness was scouting for a redfish tournament from a kayak in Florida near NASA property in the early morning. After hearing a large splash, smelling a nauseating odor, jumping wild hogs, and hearing a powerful scream-growl with trees shaking, the witness saw a tall hairy human-like face watching from behind a palm frond. The creature charged to the water's edge about 15 feet away, stopped when the witness raised a paddle and yelled, stared again, then walked back into the woods, leaving the witness physically ill and anxious for weeks.

The witness's boyfriend was night driving a Jeep when something came up the hill and crossed the road. He braked hard, got out to watch it cross a meadow, and it turned and growled. He returned shaken and the group later saw skid marks.

The witness was home at night with two female relatives when they went to open a sliding glass door for air. Pulling back the curtain, the witness came face to face with a tall gray-white hairy creature bent down with a hand reaching for the door handle. Both screamed, the creature made a horrible groan and ran down the hill toward woods and swamp. Tracks were later seen around the door leading toward the woods.

What looked like a stump grimaced and growled when he reached for his camera, so he left it alone and kept walking. He remained anxious for hours because his camp was very close and he was unarmed.

While the witness blew a loud predator call, his buddy watched the road and saw something big and black he first took for a young cow on all fours. It went into the tree line about a hundred feet away, circled, and gave a yell-growl the buddy had never heard from a bear. The witness was blowing the call and did not hear it himself.

The witness and his cousin went out to camp and target shoot in a remote snowy clearing. After a rock strike and foul odor, they entered the woods at dark and saw a large hairy upright creature showing teeth while others vocalized around them. They fired weapons while retreating to snowmobiles, the cousin ran for the truck, and the witness held position firing for an extended period before they escaped in the truck. The cousin later found the abandoned snowmobiles torn apart.

While burning cardboard at a barrel with friends, the group watched an orange lantern-like light maneuver sharply, shift color, shrink away and blink out. Immediately after, a loud roar and crashing moved up and down the adjacent woods. The group extinguished the fire and ran inside; town friends called it a cow, which the witness rejects.

About two football fields from the prior laughing incident, the witness saw bright red eyes about three feet off the ground that looked like a crouched mass. As he approached it stood to tower over him, revealing black hair, gray skin on face, chest and palms, and wide shoulders. It growl-barked, stared at him, then backed silently into the darkness and vanished.

Around 2 a.m. while taking the dog out, the witness heard thundering footsteps approaching and saw a very tall, very broad hairy figure run to the fence line, slam a tree and give a deep grunt. The dog froze silently with hair up, and the witness had to drag the dog inside, then shook and locked up the house.

Over later visits to the same woods the witness and friends found a hair-covered shape curled like a stump, had a softball-sized rock thrown at their group, found a hung bait bucket punched open and emptied, felt hot breath and heard a grunt behind them with nothing seen, and found logs arranged like benches that gave an overwhelming feeling of dread. The witness also relayed a friend's solo report of something large jumping tree to tree with a shadow passing overhead.

The witness was hiking upstream beyond a waterfall with two children and stopped to rest on large boulders by the river. A deer ran past, followed by a rock strike and the appearance of four hair-covered figures that killed the deer and gathered around it. The largest figure noticed the family, charged a short distance to their boulder, and screamed at them before stepping back after the witness shouted and another figure vocalized. The family walked out in shock, drove back to their cabin, cut their vacation short, and later sought counseling for distress and sleep problems.

A young renter living in an RV on another person's property endured months of torment. Creatures hit the RV, growled, ran off, damaged property, and were captured in photos and video with metallic gate sounds heard. A dogman-like individual with teeth and slobbering also appeared, and the homeowner's arrival scattered the creatures until the renter fled.
Growl in North Carolina
After evening-shooting a large deformed buck that ran into the woods, the guest returned at dawn and crawled into a low briar tunnel to follow blood. A tremendous growl vibrated through him, heavy stomping approached, and a towering shadow loomed over his back with visible flexing fingers. He talked calmly while backing out, then fled. Two days later he found only the deer's ripped-off head with crumbling bone.
