The witness and a friend were quail hunting on the family property and heard steps following them through dense woods. After crossing a fence they watched a tall hairy biped step over the fence and move between trees to watch them before heading toward a creek. About an hour later the witness returned with older female relatives and saw a different-colored hairy leg and foot watching them from behind trees near the road.

While walking a dirt road home at night after shining fields, the pair heard a loud exhaling rush from a ditch and saw bushes erupt. A few years before the interview the guest walked a forest road at night in deep East Texas to see if an animal would follow him. After hiding by cane and waiting between pines, he fired his thermally sighted rifle at a heat signature following him. After hours of activity, something lifted a Dutch oven lid, charged 30 feet, pushed a fist through his tent window and then pushed its face inches from his. He held a pistol, heard a voice telling him to kick his legs, did so, and the group left chirping. Urine, prints and handprints were found.

The witness, then a teenager, drove to a ranch at night to hunt raccoons with a dog. The dog acted fearful, livestock were huddled, and the woods were silent before a foul odor, heavy thumps, a branch break, growls and a scream occurred. The witness then saw large red eyes and a huge upright figure at close range, froze in terror and prayed, then fled to the truck without clear memory of the retreat, later finding the dog on the road and abandoning the rifle.

After about 45 minutes they heard knocks, whoops, growls and had pebbles and rocks thrown at them. A 13-year-old witness fishing alone along a riverbank heard heavy thumping footsteps and heavy breathing from dense woods behind him and felt watched. After waiting motionless against a tree for about 20 minutes, he briefly saw a tall shaggy dark brown-black animal moving away at an angle about 35-40 feet away. The animal was in view only a few seconds before disappearing into thick woods.

After hearing strange noises for some time, they returned to find the camp destroyed by fallen trees and witnessed shaking trees and a large hairy creature moving on all fours that charged past them kicking sand. They hid in a hollow until sunrise, then fled the area and never spoke of the event for years.

His friend climbed to peer inside and came face-to-face with a hair-covered, bear-like but man-like creature using a stick, then fled in terror to camp. The group stayed the night under guard and were told something large circled camp all night before they evacuated at dawn.

The guest and one fellow investigator camped in a research area in Lee County chosen after a Dogman report. They heard a growl, a distant tree fall, and something running around camp that was too fast to pinpoint on thermal, then found X-shaped tree structures without roots. On later visits team members saw a large dark humanoid with a conical head peek from behind a tree, found broken branches, and heard loud peacock-like bird sounds with nothing visible.

In the northern woods the witness observed a single red glowing light that moved in response to movement near a tree. Others present also saw it. After audible running through woods, something threw a large rock into a nearby river.
Tracks
The witness and five family members were camping and fishing at a remote lake. In the evening rocks were thrown toward a brother across the lake, followed by mimicked voices, screams, growls and surrounding noises. A large live tree was pushed over and fast-moving silhouettes were seen around the camp. The group abandoned their gear and left after the brother, who had been paced in the woods, rejoined them at the car.

A camping party arrived late at a ridgetop site and heard strange howling around 2 to 3 a.m. the first night. The next evening after dinner the dog fixated on brush by a steep drop, where one camper saw paired eyes at close range that avoided a flashlight, followed by branch breaks and a tall tree-like silhouette that walked from one side of camp to the road and later showed yellow eyeshine. The group packed hurriedly, secured the dog and lights, and drove home the same night feeling watched but not directly threatened.

In hindsight he wondered whether the figure was also fleeing and had simply taken the same path.
