The witness saw only from the mid-shoulders up for a few seconds before turning toward the companion and looking back to find it gone. The companion did not see the figure but heard movement and footfalls, and a strong musky odor was noticed as the figure moved away.

In mid-August 2012 around 1-2 a.m., the witness and a companion were driving on a rural wooded road when headlights illuminated a very large dark bipedal animal moving into the woods. The witness was driving west at night with family in the vehicle when he saw a large grey-haired bipedal figure cross the highway ahead in the headlights. The figure moved quickly from woods on one side to woods on the other in a few long strides, remaining hunched over and not looking toward the vehicle. Only the driver observed the figure, as the front passenger was looking at a phone and the children were asleep.
