Late at night while returning to his Boy Scout camp on an island, the witness took a shortcut through a clearing and approached what he thought was a stump to about six feet away. The shape stood on two legs revealing a broad, hair-covered bipedal figure that stared at him briefly before walking then running away through palmettos with loud crashing footsteps. He returned to camp frightened and was told by the adult leader to go back to sleep.

The witness was playing in the front yard of a farm in the afternoon and saw a very tall, long-haired figure walking along the road and appearing to search the ditches. The next day, large footprints were found in the road.

They ran around the building and came face to face with a tall, dark, fur-covered human-like animal holding grain that stared at them briefly. The animal then turned and walked quickly on two legs into nearby bush. The boys later verified the wool coveralls were still at home and that a neighbor had not been on the property.

The encounter happened on a bright sunny afternoon at less than 15 feet distance.

On the final night the group heard extremely loud screams that moved from near a remote tent toward a pond and creek and found a large maple branch freshly broken off, leading the witness years later to wonder if the visitor had been a Bigfoot.
