The writer's brother was driving alone late at night on Skyball Mountain when he smelled a strong odor. He saw a large dark hair-covered figure in tall weeds beside the road that stepped onto the road and stared at him while he stopped and watched for a minute or more. The figure then walked into the woods on the other side of the road and he drove home.

At the bottom of the creekbed they looked toward the sounds and saw a roughly seven-foot-tall hair-covered figure whose face they could not discern. Both fled home in fear and said the figure did not follow them.

One night the family smelled a strong musky odor in the living room, and the grandmother saw a large hairy figure squatted outside a picture window. The guest's father chased it as it hopped yard fences, snapped a railroad-tie post, and disappeared over a hill. For about a week afterward the grandmother heard something tampering with the wash-house door at night.

When he looked through the open shutter window he saw a dark, very hairy face with glowing eyes staring in, which fled when he screamed. The family later estimated anything peering into that high window from the sloped ground would have to be about seven to eight feet tall, but they found no trace the next day.

Helicopters pushed a female and her young into a clearing where the deputy shot the female in the chest and then shot the young in the head. The female screamed and fled up the canyon with an unknown fate, while the youngster's body was bagged, netted under a helicopter and flown out. The officer said he kept the photos and cassette hidden and had told no one else.
