A lone member sat in a daytime observation post in Area X and heard mouth-pop sounds from multiple points. He imitated the sounds and received a menacing growl, then the animal bluff-charged him. He saw it only briefly, fired a warning shot, and it stopped and retreated.

Over a prolonged period the household was visited almost nightly after midnight until near dawn. Visitors banged on doors and bedroom windows, threw rocks at the house, peered in windows and growled at children. The activity escalated from weekly to every night and left the family sleeping poorly.

The group saw strange moving lights, felt a sudden whirlwind, then heard growling and tree-breaking and footsteps in the creek as they fled. A driver stopped to help two motorists whose car had left the road after swerving to avoid a large hairy creature chasing a deer across the road. While fetching a rope from his truck to pull their car out, he walked directly into the creature standing behind his truck. He noted a foul smell, red eyes, and a low growl before it walked to the woods edge and then into the woods. He then helped move the car and continued his trip, shaken by the encounter.

The witness's father was walking down a trail at night when he saw a large shadow standing in the middle of the trail. It made a loud noise twice that shook him inside. Though armed and experienced outdoors, he turned and ran.

A hunter sitting in a box stand heard rustling behind him and saw hands part bushes with a hairy man-like face looking up and grunting. He jumped from the stand without using steps and ran across the field to his truck. He was so shaken he reportedly never hunted again.

A military camper sleeping out without a tent was picked up in his sleeping bag and thrown into a tree. He shot a monkey-like growling creature in the head with a pistol, then watched it hold its bleeding head and cry like a person. He fled on foot down a logging road while rocks were thrown and brush moved around him.

Shortly after moving into the house, the guest's son woke the guest to report growling at the basement window and said he saw shining eyes there.

A hunter encountered what he called an ape man that did not look like the well-known film subject. The animal growled, turned and charged him. When he shot, it was gone, described later as a glimmer of light like time and space opening up.

The day after hearing the scream, the guest asked neighbors whose woods bordered the sound. The neighbor said she and another person had been sitting on their wood-surrounded deck when something gave a deep guttural growl, and on approaching the edge she saw eyes in the woods, prompting them to go inside. The neighbor also said she often felt watched when walking by those woods.

The host retold a previous lady guest's claim of ongoing strange activity at her home. She said smoke appeared in her living room and formed into a tall dog-like figure that growled at her. Her friends later reported a very large wolf-like animal chasing their car from beside the house.

A patrol officer in Kentucky almost hit a big wolf-like thing on two legs that stepped in front of his car. It stopped, stared him down and growled rather than fleeing like a normal animal, then eventually left.

The witness's boyfriend was night driving a Jeep when something came up the hill and crossed the road. He braked hard, got out to watch it cross a meadow, and it turned and growled. He returned shaken and the group later saw skid marks.
