Three service members were on overnight guard duty at a wooded bivouac during a 2008 training exercise. The main witness looked up from a seated position and saw a large heavily built human-like figure silhouetted in the trees above about 30 feet away, holding trees with long outstretched arms. He blinked to check his vision, watched it move silently between trees, then it vanished. In the morning the two companions posted apart independently said they had seen something in the trees, and the three concluded they had seen the same figure circling their position.

The witness and a relative were sitting on a hill near outbuildings watching a hollow at night when a passing car's lights revealed a tall standing figure below them. The figure turned toward them, and after the car passed they heard breathing and running coming uphill toward them. Both fled to the nearby house and heard nothing further that night.

The next morning the witness found two large footprints behind the tree and another unclear print nearby.

The witness let a dog out at home late at night and heard stomping from across the road, which frightened the dog. The witness then saw a tall figure about 8 feet tall pass a street sign and telephone pole, blocking the sign, and disappear within seconds.

A couple camping on an isolated site finished dinner and sat by a campfire when the wife felt watched and fearful. The husband searched with lights and briefly saw movement in the trees about 30 feet away, including what looked like a large dark lower leg. While inside the trailer the wife heard two to three whooping sounds from that wooded area.

A woman driving in the afternoon reported a very large hairy creature emerging from a ditch beside the highway. It crossed the road in front of her car, stepped over a guardrail easily, and walked into nearby timber. The animal was described as tall and powerfully built, walking at a normal pace without acknowledging the vehicle.

The witness was driving west on a highway in the afternoon when he noticed a stationary stocky figure covered in reddish long hair standing beyond a fallow field in front of woods. He saw only the upper body and head for about three seconds before a bank and foliage blocked the view. His companion was asleep and saw nothing, and he was unable to stop or return to the location.

The witness was riding at the back of a large group of ATVs at night through a muddy, wooded trail. As he approached a large tree, he made eye contact with a tall, muscular, hair-covered figure pressed flat against the tree with its hands on the trunk. After a stare lasting about 15 seconds, the witness rode past within a few feet, looked back, and saw the figure take one quick step and disappear into the darkness.

The witness was jogging north on a prairie trail in daylight when they saw a large furry figure walking ahead with its back to them. As they approached, the figure looked larger and hair-covered, then went around a bend near a stream and retention pond. The witness continued ahead but found no one on the trail, and on the return looked into a dark opening by a fence near the water before leaving.

The witness was riding in the back seat of a car traveling west in the early morning. After noticing a strong rotten-egg and wet-dog odor, the witness saw a large dark hair-covered figure standing by a palm 300-500 yards away and facing the road. The view lasted only a few seconds before roadside trees blocked it. After turning around and returning, the figure was gone but a strange smell lingered.

The witness awoke in a truck at a forest campsite around dawn and briefly saw a dark figure run between a tent and a parked vehicle. She first thought it was a companion, but the companion was elsewhere in camp and moved more slowly. The figure was visible only for a fraction of a second from the torso up and was not seen again. No footprints were found afterward despite wet ground.
