Wood knock in California
Two friends camped off a gated logging road after noticing a possible tree structure. At night they heard knocks and breaking sticks, saw green eyeshine uphill, and the co-witness saw a smaller black creature with red eyes moving between trees. After a loud scream, they fled in their vehicle and both saw a very large gray-skinned creature in the headlights, then left the area.

A few years after the first incident, the witness hiked with the same youth group to a high mountain cabin. During the night counselors went outside after a disturbance and the witness and two others saw a tall light-colored bipedal figure standing near the trees. The group stayed inside and heard faint unexplained sounds for the rest of the stay.

Enhancing the photo with a red filter appeared to show a face and a white dress figure. He was frightened and slept in his sibling's room for about a week until the room was blessed.

They brought the father back in the truck and all saw it in the headlights by the barricades as it walked then ran and vanished. Parked by a substation they heard very loud heavy running they could not see, then heard a deep loud roar several times and left.

The witness was walking through tall weeds and thought a companion was pacing them. A very loud voice called out the companion's name and laughed with enough force to vibrate clothing. The witness climbed a tree, saw a huge black shape in the weeds, warned it and fired.

A visitor from the UK went to a beach near Monterey to photograph sea otters at sundown. She watched six very large, hairy bipeds come around a cove, with a large male wading while others handled seaweed on the sand. After her camera gear clattered on rocks, the male approached and argued vocally with a female before threatening her, after which she lost consciousness.

The witness and a companion were swimming in an above-ground pool when the witness felt watched. He saw a white face with shoulders above six-foot brush about 100 yards down a clear cut. Both boys looked, confirmed it, glanced at each other, and it was gone.

While hunting over multiple seasons, one hunter repeatedly saw large round dark shapes partly obscured by trees that he first took for deer rumps. The shapes never offered a full shot and sometimes appeared as several at once, with slight movement. He later concluded they were peeking creatures rather than deer.

The guest said an investigator had been observing with him for years and both watched a brilliant white cylinder of light about seven feet long travel down past the guest's arm and melt into the ground without sound or wind. Both jumped back.

It emitted bright white light and strange warmth while he shielded his face. Next morning he had facial redness and burnt eyelashes, then blistering burns on the shielded arm, seizures, broken back, bone disease diagnoses, and his dog later developed seizures.

On multiple daylight hunts the witness repeatedly saw large round black shapes partially hidden behind trees that he mistook for the rump of a deer quartering away. The shapes would shift slightly to show more but never offered a shot, sometimes with several visible at once. In retrospect he believes they were creatures peeking at him rather than deer.

The witness sat alone in a raised blind before shooting hours and felt watched as the woods went eerily quiet. A yearling doe ran to his blind followed by other panting deer. Through his scope he saw a distant silhouette moving slowly through a valley about 200 to 250 yards away, which he believed was not a hunter.

They documented large clay dugouts and 17-inch footprints and then recorded the two animals watching them from a short distance. The animal stood on two legs, revealing ape-like features, holding a tree with one hand. Frightened, he ran back to camp and his father dismissed it as a bear.

The witness set out alone on a multi-day hike through swamp trail and camped overnight in a hammock. During the night the camp was surrounded by unseen figures making vocalizations, knocks and walking sounds, and a food bag was knocked down. The next day the witness found large tracks, then encountered large dark hairy figures on and near the trail, one of which followed closely. The witness fled in panic to a highway rest stop and required medical care, reporting lasting distress and nightmares.

They stopped close to it and saw sparse light hair, muscular torso, and a human-like grinning face with large teeth before it left in a single stride. Both occupants were left shaken.
