The witness and a companion were anchored in a boat at night hearing loud bipedal footsteps approach through riverside woods. He switched on bright boat headlights and saw a very large, dark, hairy ape- and human-like figure at the tree line about 20 to 30 feet away that looked shocked and tried to hide behind a cottonwood. The witness panicked, pulled anchor and fled, later revisiting to estimate the figure was at least a foot to a foot and a half taller than himself with massive girth.

The witness and a companion spent the day fishing and prospecting near a dam and spillway while feeling watched. As light faded they walked back toward their car, sensing something pacing them unseen and stopping when they stopped. After reaching the dam road in darkness, the witness saw one large dark form and two smaller forms move around the spillway and up a hill, then heard them make repeated guttural, sentence-like sounds in response to a shout before disappearing over the ridge.

The figure crossed the road bipedally in a few strides and went over the right embankment. The witness stopped and reversed to the spot, noticed a musty smell and brush movement while feeling watched, then left the area.

A large hairy biped described as over 7 ft tall crossed the highway on hind legs from the north side to the south side. In the headlights the witness noticed eyeshine and then the upper part of a large dark creature standing motionless behind a steep bank. The creature had broad shoulders, long arms held out with bent elbows and hanging hair, a huge flat face, and a slight sulfurous odor was noted. The witness returned about ten days later and found scuff marks on the bank.

A child walking home from the bus stop through woods climbed onto a stump and noticed a tall black figure about 15 feet away breathing heavily and rocking with its arms at its sides. The figure turned its head to follow the child as the child backed toward the pavement and then ran home. The child told both parents about the encounter, and the father later submitted it after noticing a similar nearby report.

At about 3 a.m. the witness saw a tall hair-covered biped standing beyond the pens, which walked a short distance, stopped, then left into surrounding woods. The witness woke a relative who also saw the animal though less clearly, while the kennel dogs remained silent in their houses.

When the witness stood up the figure turned to face him, then ran back to the west and disappeared quickly and quietly. The witness left the area and later decided not to hunt there again.

After investigating, the pair heard a heavy bipedal approach pass close behind camp, prompting them to leave for the cabin. The next day the witness found a large footprint and a freshly fallen tree.
