A homeowner had shot a deer and hung it in a tree behind the house. That night while going to let dogs out, he heard an unfamiliar scream and saw a large ape-like creature in the yard. The creature seized the deer and fled into the forest, tearing out a stretch of barbed-wire fence and leaving hair and tracks. A friend visiting the next day was shown where it stood and ran, including the tracks and hair.

In May/June 1986, the witness was helping a companion gather firewood on a farm when they found trees stripped of bark with snapped branches. Later, while sitting by a pond, the witness saw a very tall, muscular, reddish-brown upright creature about 100 feet away at an electric fence near tobacco trailers. The creature sniffed the air and grunted while a dog barked, then ran back into the woods. The companion's father arrived with a shotgun and found footprints larger than his boot where the creature had stood.

In mid-August 1985, the witness had just returned inside after kenneling two large dogs when the dogs began barking intensely. Later that day she found skid-like slip marks and toe impressions on the trail where it had run.

Across the river in bright moonlight the witness saw a large bipedal creature shaking a big pine tree, then running in an arc into the woods. He mistook an approaching figure for a co-worker, hid to startle him, then came face to face at about 15 feet with a very large hairy biped that grunted, producing a visible cloud of breath. The creature walked into the bush and snapped a large branch, the witness fled down to the crusher, drove to town, and later returned with his friend to find a torn branch and large spaced steps leading to a ledge.

Four teenagers walking north from a family hunting camp stopped on a steep two-track when they saw a tall, broad, dark figure standing in the middle of the road at the hilltop staring at them. After watching for about one to two minutes, they turned and ran back to camp without seeing what it did. Poorly defined pushed-in depressions were later noticed in soft gravel and sand in the general area.

They saw a large brown biped rise from the grass about 100 yards away and walk along the treeline, glancing at them before stepping up a bank into the forest. After waiting about 15 minutes they inspected the area and found a matted grass circle and large footprints leading away.

The car slid near it and it looked in at the passenger, who felt it was intensely evil. The driver then sped away. The investigator later found smashed grass and clawed toe-ball prints high on the opposite bank and estimated nine feet.

In early fall 1996 the witness stopped to pick mushrooms near the Satsop River after checking leases. While kneeling with the dog close by, the witness smelled a strong putrid odor, stood up, and saw a large dark hairy creature standing in a fern patch about 200 feet away. They made eye contact, the creature turned its head and torso showing long arm hair, then walked quickly away. The witness left the area and told no one for a couple days.

He remained still on the couch and watched it look toward the woods, at the ground, and down at him through plastic-covered windows before it left. During the afternoon hike they repeatedly glimpsed a large black figure at a distance and found very large tracks and broken branches high above the ground. That night at a near-summit camp the group heard multiple loud roars and stayed awake by the fire, also hearing movement below. They found no further sign on the hike out and agreed not to tell others.

A very large hair-covered biped took one long stride into the path about 20-25 feet away and faced the car for a minute or more, breathing heavily and flexing its fists. After a whistle-like sound from the woods, the creature made a dismissive huff, stepped out of sight in one stride, and left silently. The two men drove away and did not return.

Around 3 a.m. on a cold clear night during Christmas season, the witness got up for a drink and looked out the back-door window toward a lit road. He watched a tall, hairy, upright figure with long arms climb a steep bank, grip a bridge rail, cross the two-lane road in one stride, and disappear down the opposite bank. The observation lasted about five seconds under a street light.

The witness and a companion were sitting in a parked car at night near a creek when wildlife sounds stopped and bipedal footsteps approached. The witness attempted to drive away and briefly saw a broad-shouldered brownish-black animal moving on two legs into the creek. The pair left to get help and later returned with others.

While hunting at dawn in the Nestor Peak area in fall 1982, the witness watched a smaller hairy biped notice him, scream and crouch to hide. A much larger similar animal then approached, touched the smaller one, and stared at the witness while breathing heavily, before the two walked uphill. A third slightly smaller animal joined them at the ridgetop and all three disappeared over the hill into the canyon.
