The witnesses saw it from the neck down, describing a bulky build, dark coloration, a swinging left arm, and crossing the road in about two and a half steps. After a tire blowout, mist, humming and slowed perception, they stopped and hid in brush where a saucer landed and three floating beings took the two children aboard. The parents sought help at a military gate while the children were found the next morning on the test range and later described examinations, pills, a calming ribbon and a map.

The creature chased them across a field toward home, taking very large steps, and disappeared from view near railroad tracks and a highway. After reaching home they told a parent, who called law enforcement, and responding deputies searched the area.

She returned later with neighbors and from her car saw it again peering from the fork of a tree while others searched on foot. Officers from multiple agencies searched the area that night without locating the animal.

The witness was driving a spray rig along an orchard boundary and scanning a neighboring field when a tall dark figure was seen walking about 100-150 yards away. The witness stopped the vehicle and watched from the hood as the figure moved with a smooth human-like stride into a walnut grove and did not reappear. A few days later the witness estimated the figure's height from a comparison tree and found no footprints on the hard soil.
