The witness and his wife were driving near a reservoir in late morning when they noticed a large dark figure across the lake. The figure walked across a valley and up steep terrain with long smooth strides, then paused behind a tree to watch before walking away into timber. The witness estimated it was about 8 feet tall and wore no clothing.

The witness had camped alone in a remote valley and left before dawn to hunt elk from a high outcropping. After sunrise he noticed a dark figure squatting by a beaver pond that then stood upright, looked in his direction, and walked through the creek toward his camp before continuing up a ridge. After watching for several minutes, he left the overlook, packed his camp, and says he has not returned.

The witness was camping with family at a secluded wooded site and sleeping in a tent when awakened during the night. Through the tent screen the witness saw a tall, dark, hair-covered bipedal silhouette standing a short distance away, which stood still briefly before turning and walking away toward a field out of view. The witness told family the next morning and later searched the field but found no trace.

Three people in two pickups crested a hill at dawn and noticed a fresh set of large tracks looping across an open hillside in new snow. A relative glassed the area with binoculars, became visibly upset, and said he thought he had seen bigfoot. The group did not approach the tracks or the area and avoided it altogether. The account was relayed secondhand by a close friend of one of the men.

The witness's relative was working alone on the graveyard shift at a mine, checking pond equipment on nightly rounds. After locking a building and walking toward the truck, he reportedly saw a huge bipedal creature he insisted was not a bear. Frightened and crying, he ran back inside and called relatives by phone to come help and stay on the line to keep him calm.

In summer 1977 two hikers descending the west side of Pikes Peak noticed a distant figure in a meadow. Viewed through binoculars, it appeared as a single tall, dark, hairy animal with very long arms and stride that moved downhill into trees in seconds. They did not photograph it, hear any sound from it, or encounter it again during two further days of fishing and camping.

She pulled back the curtain and saw a dark-skinned partial face with brown eyes inches away staring in. The sounds stopped shortly after, and the next morning the adults found apples and potatoes missing from the back of the truck.
