The witness and three companions were camping and sitting around a fire at night when the woods went quiet and they heard a tree being pushed over. They found a pine half pushed over, then heard a scream and loud growl. The witness shone a spotlight, first seeing the legs and then the full height of a tall hair-covered bipedal creature about 20-30 yards away. After watching it for several seconds as it walked away, the group left the campsite.

They described its size, build, hair, and facial features in detail.

The creature paused in the middle of the road to look toward the vehicle, then leapt into an adjacent swamp and disappeared. It was described as about five feet tall with dark brown hair and an unusual gait that was difficult to imitate.

The witness returned with a dog to an abandoned campsite to collect leftover camping items. While crossing a field, the witness saw a reddish-brown figure with long arms and an oval head standing motionless in the treeline about 300-400 feet away. The witness then ran away.
