The witness was driving up a mountain logging road to work in the morning with an infant in the car. A tall, hairy bipedal creature crossed the road in about two steps in front of the vehicle and entered the woods. The witness was frightened and drove quickly on to campus.
Boater spots something odd during the day on Lake Shasta
The witness was riding a personal watercraft up the Pit River arm of Shasta Lake in July. While rounding a turn, the witness saw a large hairy head with eyes about 20 feet from shore staring at them. After a few seconds the head submerged leaving a ripple, and the witness circled and searched the area but found no further sign.
Evening sighting by a motorist near Shingletown
The witness was driving at night on a highway near Shingletown when the truck headlights illuminated a tall, dark, upright figure crossing the road. The figure reportedly walked with a very long stride and swinging arms, glanced toward the truck, then went up a roadside embankment and disappeared before the witness could speak to the passenger.
Daylight sighting by guide and two tourists at Lake Shasta Caverns
The witness, a tour guide, was waiting at the mountain-top cavern entrance with two tourists for the return bus on a cloudy day. They heard repeated thumping and noticed treetops moving along a ravine about 200 yards away, then briefly watched a huge bipedal figure with swinging arms run downhill toward the lake and disappear while footfalls remained audible. The witness radioed for the bus and left with the group, later quitting the job to avoid being alone on the mountain.

Three people in a small pickup at night on Highway 299 saw a creature in the headlights walking ahead of them up a hill. The witness described a very tall, heavy, reddish-brown ape-like animal with long straggly hair and long swaying arms that walked with bent knees, estimating it at 7 to 8 feet tall with shoulders level with a 55-mile highway sign. All three occupants were frightened.

The witness stopped a pickup at night in pine forest north of town to collect large pine cones. While outside the truck, the witness heard a loud screech followed by fast, heavy impacts like large bipedal steps approaching down a slope. The witness scrambled into the truck and while driving away saw a dark shaggy upright figure behind the truck in tail-light glow and moonlight. The witness fled down the mountain and left the area after daylight.
Loud Screams Heard by Hunters While Camping Near a Natural Spring
Two hunters were camped overnight during deer season when they noticed a bipedal figure crossing a moonlit clearing. Shortly after, they heard loud screaming and crashing in brush on the hillside, followed by a log coming down, a strong urine-like odor, and renewed screams. Later, from inside their tent, both saw a very large shadow pass between the campfire and the tent. The next morning they found no tracks but noticed a large log newly present near their vehicle by the spring.
Man had deer stolen by creature near Lakehead
A homeowner had shot a deer and hung it in a tree behind the house. That night while going to let dogs out, he heard an unfamiliar scream and saw a large ape-like creature in the yard. The creature seized the deer and fled into the forest, tearing out a stretch of barbed-wire fence and leaving hair and tracks. A friend visiting the next day was shown where it stood and ran, including the tracks and hair.
Two Young Fishermen Have Mid-day Encounter at Lake Shasta
The witness was walking back toward a lakeside cove after dropping his sister at a dock when he heard footsteps and saw a large hair-covered figure approach to within a few feet. He and his cousin jumped into the lake and watched from the water as the figure stood watching them before running rapidly up a steep brush-covered hill and disappearing. People arriving from a nearby hilltop cabin later said such creatures visited their cabin occasionally.

While camping with family, the witness woke in the middle of the night and looked out of the tent expecting a bear. About 15 to 20 feet away under the hung food bag stood two very tall, upright, dark-haired figures, one noticeably taller than the other. After the witness gasped, both figures looked at the witness, glanced at each other, then left silently into the darkness. The witness told no one at the time and searched for tracks the next morning without success.
Man recalls adversarial encounter with an unknown creature near French Gulch
During midnight rounds at an isolated school compound, the witness crossed a suspension bridge and heard something raiding trash cans by the cookhouse. He threw rocks toward a large dark figure under the eaves, which stood erect, stepped onto the bridge, dodged thrown rocks, vaulted the bridge cables and fled upstream on two legs. He noted glowing eyes and a foul stench, then returned to his trailer without anyone else responding.

While trolling for bass from a boat on a warm summer day with a companion and a dog, the witness watched a huge dark-haired biped walk to the water's edge and pull up what looked like a stick fish trap. The creature inspected the apparently empty trap, placed it back, then climbed a very steep slope effortlessly without looking toward the boat. The companion did not see the creature while the dog barked and howled throughout the several-minute observation from about 50 yards away.
Husband and wife have late night sighting on Highway 299
The witness and husband were driving west at night when a tan-colored figure entered the headlights from the left. It crossed the roadway in two strides and went into a ravine on the right within a few seconds. Both occupants perceived the figure and confirmed it to each other after the crossing.
