Nighttime road crossing between Rochester and East Lake Drive
Around 5 a.m. while driving home from work in the dark, the witness saw a two-legged creature run across the road ahead of the car and into a cornfield near a river. The creature was described as about six to six and a half feet tall, dark dirty black and grey, very muscular, with little visible neck and no clothes. The witness did not see long hair or the face.
Possible sighting near University of Illinois Springfield soccer fields
While driving home from school in the afternoon, the witness noticed a tall, brown, hair-covered human-shaped figure standing at the tree line beside soccer fields. The figure was still and was gone when the witness glanced away and back. An investigator later summarized the description as a massive 8-foot-tall animal with very long flowing hair seen from about 150 feet away.

With bright lights on, the witness described it as tall and massive with long arms and a hunched posture, moving very fast in a few long strides. The witness was riding a minibike on trails in wooded river bottoms when he lost control and crashed in a sand pit among shrubbery. As he looked up, he saw a large, heavily built, reddish-haired hominoid-like figure standing by a tree about 25 yards away. The figure looked at him briefly and then walked into thick brush.

The witness was driving with a companion when they came upon an animal lying in the middle of the road and swerved to avoid it. The animal stood up on two feet, watched them as they drove around and away, and then left on foot bipedally. Two companions walking along a wooded driveway in the afternoon heard unidentified tapping sounds and entered the woods to investigate. They found freshly matted grass and a human-like bare footprint with five toes in dried mud. Shortly after, the companion shouted to run as loud timber-breaking crashes and movement occurred in dense undergrowth behind him. The reporter did not see the source, but the companion reportedly saw something about seven feet tall, after which both fled to the driveway.

After hearing twigs crunching as something circled their position, those in the back seat noticed a figure behind the vehicle. The witnesses in front then glimpsed a tall dark bipedal figure with red reflected eyes ducking behind a tree, prompting them to start the vehicle and leave immediately.
