Hikers observe a tall human-like figure near Rawley Springs
The witness and a companion were hiking in a national forest when they stopped to rest and eat. After standing up, they noticed a very large reddish-brown figure standing down the mountainside and watched it for about 90 seconds. The figure then walked away into the trees before they could photograph it. A few minutes earlier they had heard an animal sounding in distress from the same direction.

When the witness reached the spot and looked into the woods, the creature was gone.

After hearing stomping noises and then a loud deep vocalization, the witness stopped and saw a large hairy figure about 20 feet away hitting a tree. After brief eye contact, the figure stepped into the woods and disappeared, and the witness rode home quickly.
