Possible encounter by young campers in their tent after hearing woodknocks near Buckley
Four friends camped overnight near a river. After a distant yelp, a companion reported seeing a large shape by the river that could not be made out in the dark. Later the two awake witnesses heard a loud knock on a tree near camp and then bipedal footsteps circling the tent, including contact brushing the tent, before the sounds moved away. A daylight check found no tracks.
Possible sighting by clay pigeon shooters near the base of Mt. Rainier
Four adults spent the day trap shooting at a dead-end road near a washed-out bridge. During a lunch break they noticed a tall dark stump-like shape about 25-30 yards into the forest and watched it remain motionless for 30-45 minutes. When they later looked again the shape was gone, leaving no matching stump. They concluded the object may have been a sasquatch calmly observing them despite hours of shotgun noise.
Lake Tapps
Two companions on their way to school in the morning saw two pale human-like figures standing at the edge of woods on a hill. The figures smelled like skunks and then wandered back into the woods. The witnesses estimated the figures' height against a tree limb and later reported finding nest-like structures nearby.
