Man recalls close range daylight sighting while squirrel hunting near Monroe
The witness was squirrel hunting in a small farm woodlot on a sunny mid-morning when noisy birds in the underbrush drew attention. At a bend in a lane the witness saw a tall reddish-brown hairy biped standing off the trail about 25 yards away and they stared at each other without moving. After a standoff the creature raked berries from a shrub and ate them while glancing between the shrub and the witness. The witness slowly backed away out of sight, then walked fast and ran from the woodlot.

The witness was waiting above ground while two companions explored a pit, sitting reading in a jeep in a grassy clearing. He noticed a dark form moving in the treeline and called out, thinking it was the landowner, then moved to a power-line opening for a clearer view. The figure paused and stared for about 10 seconds, appearing as a 6-7 foot tall biped covered in long dark brown fur/hair, before walking away into the trees.

The witness and a companion stopped in a car at a rural wooded intersection late at night to look at a map. A tall, slender, hairy biped crossed directly in front of their car at very close range and continued to the other side of the road. Another car arriving at the intersection also stopped and then drove away quickly, which the witness took as confirmation it was also seen.
