The witness was walking off trail with a companion when they noticed a dark figure behind a low stone wall. The figure stood up with its back to the witness and walked quickly into the woods without running. The companion did not see it but heard movement, and the pair searched for about three hours without finding it again.

Late on a Thanksgiving night in 2004, the witness and his mother were washing dishes when an extremely loud impact shook the side of the house near the woods. The witness stepped into an adjacent dark room and saw a very large upright shadow moving quickly away from the house toward the woods. His mother said the next morning she had felt watched for hours, and no footprints were found because the ground was frozen.
