A very tall, very wide dark figure stood up nearby, showing a lighter chest or stomach area in the moonlight. The witness screamed and ran inside, after which relatives went out with a light and reported seeing a large two-legged shadow run up the brushy hill and disappear while staying just out of sight.

A larger tree nearby then shook violently, and after sunrise the witness and his companion found worn trails and a footprint but no clear tracks.
