Possible Sasquatch sighting by camper near Camp Cadiz in Shawnee National Forest
A couple was driving on an old muddy road near a campground searching for a place to camp. The wife, riding as passenger, glimpsed from the corner of her eye a tall upright dark figure emerging from the tree line toward the road that then went back into the woods. The husband, who was driving, saw nothing. The glimpse lasted only a few seconds in daylight.
Sighting by motorist 10 miles SE of Big Thicket National Preserve
The witness and a young companion were driving slowly north on Bragg Road with only parking lights on to look for the local lights. A tall dark bipedal figure emerged from woods on the east side about 20 feet in front of the truck and walked slowly across the road. It paused to look toward the occupants, showing eyeshine in the parking lights, then stepped over the road grade into the forest while crunching sounds were heard as it walked away. The witness stopped briefly then left immediately, unsettled by the human-like appearance and size.
Possible midnight road crossing near Iowa Falls
The witness was driving home from work at nearly midnight when something jumped onto the road at the top of a hill. It looked toward the vehicle for a second or two, showing big red eyes, then quickly crossed to the woods on the other side. The witness described it as gigantic and black, and said its speed and the height of its eyes made him think it was a Bigfoot.
Possible observations using thermal imager southeast of Equality
The witness was with two companions walking a forest trail back to camp near midnight while using a thermal monocular and making howls and whoops. After hearing four return howls, the witness saw a bright heat signature through the thermal that peeked from behind a tree, disappearing and reappearing on alternating sides for about a minute. A companion also viewed it through the thermal and reacted with surprise. When the companions moved closer, the source grew smaller, moved through thick vegetation from right to left, and disappeared, with the witness discerning only what looked like a head.
Three motorists have early morning road sighting near Hardin/Allen county line
Three occupants of a car driving home around 2 a.m. noticed a dark shape in a roadside ditch by a bridge. When the driver backed up, the figure stood up, leaned over briefly, then rushed toward the car covering distance very quickly. The driver accelerated away and the occupants saw it enter the road behind them. They described a large thick-built figure with coarse hair, a large belly, round head and no neck, and noted a terrible skunk-like odor.
Young man see's a "huge hairy ape looking thing" under a bridge on the Scioto River
The witness was walking home across a bridge at night when splashes were heard from the river below. Going down to the bank to look, the witness saw a large hairy ape-like figure standing in the river. The figure turned and ran through the water toward the witness while making a gurgling sound. The witness fled up the bank, fell while running, and later avoided the bridge at night.
