Possible early moming sighting from second story apartment in Atlantic Beach
Early in the morning the witness stepped onto a second-story apartment balcony and turned on the light. She immediately heard a loud primate-like scream followed by woo-woo calls, which set a neighbor's dog barking. After several minutes she noticed a tree rustling, heard low grunts and footsteps along a privacy fence, and watched a very wide, hunched, ape-like shadow lumber along the fence line before two figures reportedly moved off together into the dark.
Brief daylight sighting of a small primate type creature in a pine forest near Jacksonville
The witness was riding a golf cart through wooded property in early afternoon when he noticed a small dark primate-like animal squatting in an old road. After passing it, he reversed and saw it beside the road bending down a small pine branch to peer at him for a few seconds. It then ran into thick brush, appearing to move upright, and the shaken witness did not check for tracks.
Security Guards have sighting while on duty near Jacksonville
Around 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 1, 2000, the reporter and a fellow security officer were standing outside a guarded building talking. The fellow officer reacted and said he saw a tall, all-black, heavily built figure near the tree line that moved out of view around another building. The reporter himself saw nothing, and a search on foot and by vehicle found nothing.

While on night patrol, the witness responded to a companion's report of something standing by trees behind a building and shone a spotlight into the woods. A very large upright hairy creature holding a branch was seen, which then dropped the branch, looked back with red eyeshine, screamed, and ran away with a strong odor left behind. The witnesses later found a large pine branch torn from about nine feet up.
Husband and wife have nighttime road-crossing sighting
The witness was driving north at night with his family when he saw a tall, hairy bipedal figure standing by the road. The figure walked east across the highway in front of the car with swinging arms while the witness slowed, and his wife also saw it. The figure stepped off into dune pines and they continued driving without stopping.
Daylight sighting at edge of woods near fishing hole outside Jacksonville
The witness had carried fishing gear to a creek and walked back to the parked car for more equipment when footsteps in the woods stopped. He turned toward the sound and saw a tall hair-covered figure at the woods edge pushing a branch aside. He called to two companions at the fishing spot, and when he looked back the figure was gone as loud footfalls moved rapidly away through the woods.
