Two witnesses observe creature on edge of forest
Two coworkers claimed to see a tall, dark, hair-covered biped accompanied by a black dog at a garden center entrance in Mashpee in the fall of 1980 or 1981 between 2 and 3 a.m. They reported extreme shock and drove away at high speed. The area was described as adjacent to the largest forest tract on Cape Cod near an Army training base.

The witness, then a child home alone on a snowy midday, reported seeing a furry face looking through a den window. The figure made a grunting sound and ran on two legs around the house toward the woods. Friends who came over later viewed hoofed footprints outside with the witness.
