The witness and a companion were hiking in a national forest when they stopped to rest and eat. After standing up, they noticed a very large reddish-brown figure standing down the mountainside and watched it for about 90 seconds. The figure then walked away into the trees before they could photograph it. A few minutes earlier they had heard an animal sounding in distress from the same direction.

On the night of November 23 the witness shone a light from the deck toward a small woods patch behind the house to check for deer. About 160 yards away he saw a pair of large, brilliant emerald-green eyes spaced widely apart. As an experienced outdoorsman he said he had never seen eyes of that shape, brilliance and spacing, and said the sighting combined with an earlier strange vocalization made him open to a Sasquatch-type creature being present.

A couple sitting on their front porch watched a large dark figure crouched at the treeline. When a deer darted out, the figure stood on two legs and chased the deer back into the woods with fast, graceful motion. The next evening they compared the husband at the same spot and estimated the figure at 7.5 to 8 feet tall.

The witness and a companion were leaving a fishing spot behind a fish hatchery at dusk when the witness heard a crash and saw a tall dark standing figure on the trail they had just used. The companion ran ahead while the witness briefly watched the figure before running to a truck in fear. The figure was described as very tall with broad shoulders and seen only as a silhouette for a few seconds.

After picking up a relative at the airport, the witness became lost while driving at night with her two children on unmarked rural roads. While traveling slowly near a church, she and the children noticed a large brown furry figure crouched by the roadside ditch with its back to the road. They did not stop and continued home. The witness and a companion were sleeping in their truck at a forest camp late at night when a large bipedal shape walked past and went to trash bags hung high in a tree. The shape reached up, carried one bag into the woods where tearing and eating sounds were heard, then returned about half an hour later to take a second bag. The pair remained in the truck, then packed up and left to spend the rest of the night elsewhere.

Around 3 a.m. on a cold clear night during Christmas season, the witness got up for a drink and looked out the back-door window toward a lit road. He watched a tall, hairy, upright figure with long arms climb a steep bank, grip a bridge rail, cross the two-lane road in one stride, and disappear down the opposite bank. The witness saw two small dark hair-covered figures moving and climbing around the tree; one came down, moved behind the trunk, then peered out and stood upright looking toward the car. Frightened, the pair left immediately and drove home instead of staying overnight.

The witness was an MP stationed at Davison Army Airfield from late 1977 to late 1979. While alone on night gate duty he noticed a deer acting alarmed, heard a noise in the dark woods beyond the street light, and saw two red eyes reflecting back at a height well above deer level. He connects the incident to repeated nighttime knocks, loud wood breaks and unfamiliar animal sounds heard around the airfield swamp and south perimeter woods.
