Two companions walking on a Lake Superior beach at dusk with a dog approached a large driftwood pile when the dog reacted and stopped. They saw a large dark upright silhouette on the far side of the pile that bent down, gripped a log as if to climb over, then ducked out of view when a flashlight was aimed at it. The head was seen popping up briefly before they retreated to the parking lot.

The witness and companions were calling coyotes at the edge of a field at night when they noticed yellowish eyeshine behind a tree. Around 2:30 a.m. the witness and his daughter were walking from the house to a detached garage bordering the national forest when they noticed movement and a white, human-like furry figure about 100 feet away looking toward them. The figure moved very quickly in a half-circle and crouched near a tree, then was seen standing motionless with its back to them as they approached. They ran back to the garage frightened and later discussed that they could not match it to a known animal.

A neighbor suggested a bear on its hind legs, but the witness felt the thin human-like form and silent movement did not fit.

The witness was driving home at night on a dirt backroad when something struck the truck, leaving scratches and a dent on the passenger door. After calling for help, the witness with two relatives found footprints along the road and photographed them. While photographing they saw green eye-shine above the brush and a large upright shadowy outline, then heard wood knocks, growling and heavy footsteps before the eyes disappeared.

Around 3:30 a.m. on a warm night in late summer 2011, the witness ran outside with a rifle and flashlight after hearing a chicken squawking. About 100 feet away behind the garage, the witness saw huge orange eyes staring from above a chicken coop and estimated the figure at 6 to 7 feet tall. After briefly looking down to ready the rifle, the figure was gone, and the witness heard something crashing fast through brush to the southwest with heavy breathing. A chicken was found alive but missing rear feathers with a pile of feathers nearby and no digging.

The witness and two companions were scouting for deer season by a creek near a cedar swamp when they heard an unfamiliar low growl. After the witness threw stones toward the sound, they saw a dark upright shadow moving at the swamp edge and rocks were thrown back toward them. Hearing further growls and large branches breaking, the group left quickly for their vehicle.

She braked suddenly and the animal turned and walked away, quickly vanishing into the trees. The relative did not see the animal but noticed the witness became frightened. No tracks, photos, or other physical evidence were collected.
