Four campers spending the night near a creek reported hearing aggressive vocalizations described as a mix of whoops and screams, then seeing the silhouette of a very tall figure with a wide torso about fifteen feet away. They retreated to their truck before setting up camp, and later that night heard a deep whistle, crunching footsteps, pebbles hitting tents, and a branch breaking, along with a foul odor while a small dog growled. By morning a chair was found knocked over, but no tracks were located on the rocky ground.

While hunting in southeast Idaho in fall 2016, the witness was photographing a moose through a spotting scope and whistled to make it stop. Five high-pitched whistles came in immediate response from a brush patch, which the witness believed was not the moose. The witness then saw what looked like brown eyes in the brush where the moose had put its head down, and took grainy photos that showed nothing significant.

The witness and three relatives were hog hunting at night from two positions separated by several hundred yards. Around midnight they heard bipedal footsteps, grunting, whistling, whoops and reciprocal tree knocks, smelled a strong foul odor, and had small sticks thrown at their position. After a shot was fired into the ground, heavy running was heard moving toward the second position where glowing eyes were seen, and the group left around 2 a.m.

The witness then saw two upright hairy figures, one about 4 feet tall and one about 6-7 feet tall, and one threw an object toward the stand. The witness yelled, climbed down, fled to an open corn field, and called a companion for a ride.

The witness and his son were camping in a tent near a swamp when they were awakened by a loud unusual vocalization, followed by prolonged loud whistling that seemed to circle the camp. About an hour later the witness woke again and saw an upright silhouette pass by the tent. A third companion slept through the sounds, and the group did not stay a second night.

While driving south to go hunting before sunrise, the witness and a companion saw a grey, shaggy bipedal figure run across the highway and up an embankment over a fence. The figure was bent over and moving very fast with its arms pumping, and had very long hair on its forearms. After stopping to look with a flashlight, they heard two distinct whistles from the trees.

The witness was riding horseback at night near a creek confluence when a loud raspy scream was heard repeatedly from about 40 yards away in the creek. A second animal to the east answered with a loud whistle and rapid grunts. After turning on lights the witness saw eyeshine from the creek, lost it, then later saw two pairs of eyes on the far bank that turned and moved away.

After dark the witness went down to a lake dock to remove a battery charger from a bass boat and shined a spotlight across the cove. He noticed a tall dark figure in 6 to 7 foot grass, whistled at it and heard a different whistle returned. When he looked back the figure was moving away through the weeds, and he ran back to the house.

After climbing down to investigate, he smelled strong body odor, heard tapping and vocal sounds coming from two directions, and had acorn-like objects thrown at him. He then briefly saw a large dark figure watching him from cover before fleeing the area and never returning.

Three people were at a lake launch ramp at dusk when the witness imitated a whistle from a recording. Movement was heard approaching through brush above the lake to within about 200 feet. A light showed eyes low along the treeline, and whistling exchanges continued until the group left in their car.

The witness first noticed a black flash in the woods, then heard whistling and rustling behind them while riding slowly. Looking back, the witness perceived a large black bulk pursuing them and saw two yellow glowing eyes. The companion reportedly saw nothing, and the witness did not mention it at the time to avoid alarming the companion.

Three hunters camped in a river bottom over the opening weekend of bow season. Over several days and nights they reported heavy impacts, rustling, a skunk-like odor, red eyeshine, wood knocks, whistles, talk-like mumbling, a whoop-ending vocalization, and bent trees and branch structures. The most intense moment was a predawn episode with a deep guttural roar followed by a scream-like sound near camp. They left early after smelling the odor again near a plum thicket.

The witness and a young relative spent the night in a camp trailer near the family house. Over several hours at night they heard heavy bipedal footsteps circling the trailer, brushing and clawing sounds on the siding, door and ceiling vent, and later blows to the trailer. The witness reported a brief glimpse of a long shaggy finger-like shape through the vent screen, and said the sounds withdrew when a car approached and returned later.

He described finding a pole teepee structure and twisted saplings, hearing distant whistle-like sounds and whistling on the hill, seeing red and green eyeshine at night, pursuing unseen footsteps in snow without finding tracks, and having rocks and wood thrown. He stated he never had a clear sighting but concluded an intelligent, elusive presence lived nearby.
