The witness later went outside with a flashlight and saw a single glowing red eye high in the treeline. In the morning stacked rocks were gone, footprints were found, and a large pine by the carcass had been pushed over.

The witness took a boat with family to Shell Island and walked inland from the beach toward dense forest. About 7 yards from the treeline he heard a loud scream-screech, looked up, and saw a large brown mass moving right through the woods for about a second. After a smaller, more distant figure gave piercing screams and a closer figure answered with a guttural grunt, the figures started moving toward each other and the witnesses left for their truck.

Early in the morning the witness stepped onto a second-story apartment balcony and turned on the light. She immediately heard a loud primate-like scream followed by woo-woo calls, which set a neighbor's dog barking. After several minutes she noticed a tree rustling, heard low grunts and footsteps along a privacy fence, and watched a very wide, hunched, ape-like shadow lumber along the fence line before two figures reportedly moved off together into the dark.

Late at night while fishing at the Kanopolis Lake spillway, the reporter noticed movement on a hill and then a large figure peeking from behind a tree about 150-200 yards away. The reporter and an adult companion watched it peek in and out for about 45 minutes, seeing red eye-shine with and without a flashlight. Near the end, the companion heard a single knock and a 3-4 second high-pitched scream from the figure's area, which the reporter could not hear over the flowing water.

About an hour later the witness woke again and saw an upright silhouette pass by the tent. A third companion slept through the sounds, and the group did not stay a second night.
