The witness, a contractor who collects road-killed deer, stopped to load a fresh doe into his pickup in the early morning. While seated in the cab reaching for paperwork, he felt the truck shudder and saw in the rearview mirror a dark figure reaching into the truck bed. He drove away quickly, and when he returned minutes later the newly loaded deer and a loading ramp were gone.

The driver claimed a dark upright figure stood in the middle of the highway in the early morning and did not move when honked at. The driver swerved to miss the figure at close range, left the highway and rolled into the woods.
