Late at night in 1990, the witness and five companions were walking to their camp in the mountains when they saw a distant moonlit silhouette on a nearby ridge. The figure stood, jumped a great distance, then strode over the far side of the ridge without audible sound, frightening the group. The witness later estimated from memory that the animal was at least eight feet tall.
