Possible nighttime encounter while camping near Potosi
The witness was camping in brush with family members. About 4:30am on the first night he awoke to a strong skunk-like odor and a feeling of being watched. He rolled over and made out a very broad-shouldered silhouette with a head between trees about seven yards away. He turned away without telling family and waited for daylight, and the group left early after two nights.
Possible Sighting by Deer Hunter in the Ottawa National Forest
During the November 1996 deer season, the witness was walking back to camp just after dusk when he saw a dark, very large man-like silhouette standing in the trail about 50 yards ahead. After he spoke to it, the figure silently stepped off the trail into dense cover and vanished. He waited, then passed the spot with his rifle ready, and a next-day search found no sign because fresh snow had fallen.
Memory told of a possible daylight sighting while driving deer on a farm east of Iron River
In the late 1960s, the witness was stationed at a fence corner during a family deer drive on fenced farm land. He reported seeing a large hairy figure step over a four-foot barbed-wire fence from the west and then over a second fence to the north. The rest of the hunting party later emerged from the woods behind it, and the witness maintained the same account into adulthood.
