The witness called back, then searched with a rifle scope and caught a brief glimpse of shaggy reddish-brown legs as the source fled through the trees. The witness reported a strong sense of dread and later said they have not returned to the area.
Daytime road crossing seen near Ashland
The witness was driving on a paved road through pine forest on a clear afternoon and crested a hill. A tall creature with broad shoulders and reddish-brown matted fur emerged and crossed the road just ahead of the car in a few fast strides. The witness reported a good view of the body but did not get a clear view of the face, as the creature did not look toward the car.
