Semi truck driver on I-70 observes a large ape-like creature in a field near Marshall
The witness was driving east on I-70 in Clark County, Illinois, in the morning when he saw a large black animal squatted in an agricultural field about 200-300 yards away with its back turned. The animal then moved toward the adjacent woods while stooped over on two feet with a crouched, squat-walking motion. The witness first thought of a bear but said the form looked ape-like and he had no other explanation.
Possible sighting at night by bowhunters near Crooked Creek outside Dubois
The witness and a hunting companion were talking in the bed of a pickup while camped after bow hunting near Crooked Creek on a bright moonlit night. About 20 yards away they watched a two-legged figure peek from behind a cottonwood tree, then run to hide behind another cottonwood. Feeling unsafe with only a bow, they shouted about having guns and then left, driving 25 miles to sleep elsewhere.

On Thanksgiving morning the witness was driving back from rabbit hunting and scanning open cornfields for deer when they stopped to watch a large dark hair-covered form walking upright across corn stubble toward the woodline about 1/8 to 1/4 mile away. The witness then left the area. The sighting occurred less than a mile from a lake bank where the witness and three companions had heard an unidentified scream and crashing sounds the previous year, which the witness now links to the same kind of animal.
