The witness walked into a creek to look for surface artifacts and climbed out of the creek bed. About 20 feet away he saw a hair-covered creature sitting asleep against an oak tree with its hands locked across its knees. He dropped back into the creek out of sight, after which the creature got up and ran east across a gravel road.

The witness was driving with a companion at night near a canal by South Mountain Park in Phoenix. A large black, burly-bodied creature crossed the road in front of their car, moving on all fours or dragging its front limbs. It looked toward them showing a face described as similar to a Sasquatch or orangutan, then disappeared into darkness.

Two companions camping overnight were awakened by movement on rocks above camp. They listened for about 15 minutes, then watched a bipedal form cross a stream and meadow into the treeline about 200 yards away. The witness was riding a bicycle on a gravel road on the way home from a friend's house when something in the woods drew attention. About 100 yards away in the woods, a hair-covered creature walked perpendicular to the witness for about a minute before stopping beside a large birch tree. When the witness looked away to decide which way to run, the creature was gone, and the witness ran back to the friend's house and got a ride home.

The witness took a light and walked toward the woods without it on, smelling a strong foul odor and hearing branches breaking. When the flashlight was turned on, the witness briefly saw a tall, large, hairy bipedal animal fleeing through the woods. Broken branches and ground disturbance were found the next day.

A mother driving her son home at night watched a very large hair-covered animal cross the road in the headlights about 150 feet away. The witnesses saw it from the neck down, describing a bulky build, dark coloration, a swinging left arm, and crossing the road in about two and a half steps. After a minute or two the individual walked away, and the witness moved the children to the car and left the campsite early, leaving some gear behind.

A large slender figure that had frozen in place then took two strides up the bank, glanced back, and went into the woods. Six people hiking down a mountain trail in the afternoon saw an approximately six-foot dark-blonde bipedal animal scramble across the trail from upslope to downslope. A dog with the group chased it barking, then a fair-sized tree fell about 50 yards away, after which the dog went quiet and returned. The witnesses watched the tree fall from uphill but could not see the animal through the thick forest during the chase.

The witness scrambled into the truck and while driving away saw a dark shaggy upright figure behind the truck in tail-light glow and moonlight. The witness fled down the mountain and left the area after daylight.

Three people were fishing at night at a pool on a river near a bridge when they saw a frightened coyote run past and heard splashes. A large dark figure standing waist-deep in the river about 40 yards away then threw boulders toward them, with the closest landing a few yards away and splashing water on them. The group shouted, reeled in their lines, and fled through trees and a field to their car. They returned the next day and judged the water depth and boulders inconsistent with a person.

When it stood upright, looked at the witness, and walked quickly north into brush and trees on two legs, the witness concluded it was not a bear.
