Man recalls childhood sighting near Allison Park
Two companions sitting on a pipeline corridor heard alternating bird-like calls and wood-knock sounds for about 20 minutes that grew louder and seemed to come from very close by. When they stood to look, they saw a tall grey-haired animal about 20-30 yards away staring at them. Both the witnesses and the animal immediately fled, with the animal crashing in a straight line uphill through the woods.

Late at night two companions were watching TV in a mobile home when they heard a noise at the front. The witness looked through the door window and described a large face peering in that then screamed and pushed away. Both went out the back and watched the figure step over a barbed-wire fence and run away hunched over with very long arms. In 1971 the witness was alone watching TV at the parents' rural house near Myrtle Point. After hearing dogs bark, smelling a strong foul odor, and hearing footsteps on an outside plank, she saw a tall hunched hairy female figure pass a glass door. The figure stopped, turned toward her and made eye contact, after which she fainted and was later found on the floor by her parents. Her father searched outside with a flashlight but found nothing.

The witness was driving west late at night when a 6-foot-tall hairy creature stepped into the road. It crossed slowly about 50 yards in front of the vehicle and showed no fear. The creature was described with reddish-orange hair, massive legs, long arms, and eyes that shone emerald green in the headlights.

Four college students were driving slowly on a snow-covered road at night when a large hair-covered biped came from a field toward the road. It stepped over fences and ditches and crossed in front of their car from right to left without looking at them. Three elk hunters walking back toward camp heard a loud crash and chased what they assumed was a bull elk to the rim of a deep, steep-sided canyon. From across the canyon the reporter watched through a rifle scope as a tall, black-haired biped ran up the opposite slope on two feet and briefly turned to show its face in profile before entering the trees. The group chose not to pursue closely, later backtracked the trail toward the highway, and examined broken vegetation and footprints the following day.

In October 1970, a teenager watching television indoors glanced toward a large picture window and reported a tall grey hair-covered figure standing very close outside staring in. While deer hunting alone from a stump, the witness saw a large human-like figure run through brush about 50 feet away. The figure was first mistaken for the witness's father, but the father then appeared elsewhere on foot, smaller and much noisier. A couple driving west over Skyline Drive in the morning saw a large hairy biped running toward the road. The driver slowed as the creature crossed about 10 feet in front of the car, continued past the car, then went up a steep embankment into dense foliage and out of sight. The witnesses said it ran on two legs the entire time, never slowed, and ignored them.

Two witnesses driving west on Highway 41 between Three Lakes and Tioga around sunset stopped to watch a tall white-furred biped standing on a hilltop south of the road. They described it as human-like but much larger, covered in long flowing hair, watching them from about 100 to 150 feet away for about 30 seconds. They then left unnerved, stating they had consumed only coffee.

Two officers responding to a late-night prowler call encountered a tall dark hair-covered biped. It was first seen pressed against a house, then moved between houses and crossed a residential street under a streetlight before disappearing into a wooded marshy area near a canal. The officers watched it cross the wide street in three strides without running, and tracking dogs lost its scent at the marsh.
