Livestock on surrounding farms were found dead with intestines removed. After the father fired through a wall at one creature, only the smaller one was reportedly seen, and activity lessened after relatives guarded the house and a protective ritual was performed.

The witness was walking with two companions in a wooded area near houses and a field when they noticed a tall, bulky upright figure approaching from a short distance. The figure chased them as they ran toward a clearing, closing to within about 15 feet before stopping at the woods edge while they continued running. The witness recalled a musty animal smell and noted the chaser made no audible running noise, describing the face as hairy with indistinct features.

The animal stood, made a gesture, and walked into the forest. As they descended toward the creek they heard noise and saw a bear with a cub feeding nearby, leaving the witness unsure what was seen.

A child playing with a ball in the backyard of a farmhouse chased it to a fence by a thicket, where a large hair-covered biped leaned over the fence close to her face. She screamed and backed toward the house as the creature looked toward the house and then fled. Family members came after hearing the screams but did not see the creature.

Two geologists driving at night toward Yellowstone saw a large upright shaggy figure in their high beams as it climbed from a roadside ditch. The figure glanced at the vehicle, then crossed the highway in a few long strides, grasped the guardrail, and descended into a culvert out of sight. The witnesses stopped briefly then drove on to the park entrance, waiting until morning to compare independent written accounts.

The reporter and three companions spent about half an hour on an observation tower, where the reporter heard loud clicking and short high-pitched screams and noticed an absence of birds. While driving out of the refuge minutes later, the reporter and the front-seat companion watched a huge, very wide, all-black upright figure cross the wide road in about three steps and disappear into dense brush. The companions in the back seat did not see it, and a brief stop found only a disturbed path through the brush where it had entered.

While mushroom hunting with a child near a creek, the witness noticed movement behind a tree across the creek and then saw part of a dark hair-covered entity, including knee, shoulder and face. The entity moved behind the tree out of view, and the witness left immediately with the child. She later returned with a firearm and found footprints where the entity had stood.
Daylight observation from Beacon Rock, along the Columbia River
From atop Beacon Rock, the witness watched a huge black figure climb a railroad bed in two strides and then stride across a pasture toward the river, passing among cows that looked only half its height and seemed undisturbed. A smaller figure that moved on all fours trailed behind it. The larger figure squatted for a time at a tributary before crossing back across the meadow and being lost from view.

As children playing in the yard near dusk, the witness and a relative noticed a figure moving along the woodline across the road. The figure was described as walking stooped over and pushing vegetation aside with its hands, then stopping to look at them after being shouted at. Both children fled indoors frightened and told a parent, who did not see anything.

Around 3 AM on a clear summer night the witness was at home when a relative came to the back door after being outside. The dog hid and whimpered and a foul odor was present. Both then watched a huge hairy biped about seven to eight feet tall walk slumped over out of the moonlit woods and through a neighboring yard.
