On New Year's Eve at his former partner's parents' rural property, the witness went outside with his dog to smoke. The dog grew agitated as a tiny green speck in the distance grew into a pulsating sheet-like light moving slowly toward them about ten feet off the ground. He went upstairs to get help, found everyone long asleep, and realized hours had passed though he felt only briefly outside.

Early in the morning while heading to fish along a creek, the witness saw a large bipedal creature standing in the water about 15 to 20 yards away. The creature left the creek, struck a tree with its hand, stomped its foot and vocalized, then ran into the forest. The witness watched for about 45 seconds and also noted a musky animal-like odor.

Residents in a Campbell County community reported a large ape-like primate on the loose over several weeks in autumn 2003. One resident reported seeing the animal at close range, noting a strong odor, and said it threw a kitten toward them. Other reports described a home intrusion with scattered belongings, stool deposits on property, and many missing or dead cats and kittens. Animal control and the sheriff's department investigated and warned residents not to approach the animal.

The witness saw a large hunched furred figure with a rounded back in the field and a smaller figure moving away, and heard exchanging chuffing vocalizations and a distressed mewling sound from the field and from across the road near a creek. The figures moved toward tall grass and the tree line, a tree across the road shook as if climbed, a musty odor was noticed, and mashed grass trails were found the next morning.

The witness was sitting at a mountain camp near water around midday when they noticed a bear-like odor and spotted movement on a nearby ridge. A dark, almost black figure initially mistaken for a man stood up from the ground and walked calmly across the ridgetop, close enough for footstep sounds to be heard, before descending out of sight. The witness emphasized the figure was much larger than a bear.

Two men had finished dredging for gold and were talking when they noticed a large dark creature about 100 feet away partly behind a dead tree and tailings pile. The creature reached up and snapped off a tree limb, looked at them for 10 to 20 seconds while a strong smell was present, then turned and walked into the woods. They stayed in the area for two more weeks with no further sightings but reported smelling it several times.

The husband saw a dark bulky figure hunched behind brush watching them, while the wife experienced birds going quiet and then saw bushes moving up into the woods as something left quickly. The witness and a companion were parked in a truck at a mountain road landing late at night and watched a wild boar rooting in snow. After the boar fled, an upright figure appeared at the tree line, stood over the boar's spot, and was then illuminated by high beams. The figure blocked the light, showed glowing eyes, grunted, crossed the road in three strides, grabbed a sapling and disappeared uphill, leaving a strong odor.

The witness hiked alone on a forested trail in eastern Tennessee. He noticed a shadow and heard loud bipedal footsteps that circled and then followed him. When he stopped the steps stopped, and when he ran the steps stayed close. He left the trail without ever seeing what made the sounds.

The witness and three companions were sitting by a dying campfire late at night when a dog ran back into camp frightened. They then noticed a tall shadowy figure just beyond the firelight that turned to face them, showing eye reflection and a strong foul wet-animal odor. After staring for under a minute, the figure ran upslope through brush breaking branches, while the group shouted and then kept the fire up all night.

A dark shape circled at about 75 yards for several minutes, moving heavily through leaves and sounding bipedal, before running off. When he closed to about a hundred yards, the animal stood on two feet and ran silently into the woods. He noticed roadkill in the road and a foul smell that he said might have come from the roadkill, then drove away quickly.
