On driving back through the same spot, the companion watched a similar tall black figure with wide shoulders and a rounded head for 15-20 seconds before it stepped behind a tree and vanished. Moments later the companion saw branches about seven feet high moving in a row as if something tall had run through.

The witness and family were sleeping in a cabin when an extremely foul odor came in through an open window, prompting the witness to close the window and turn off a fan. The son later reported waking several times hearing something outside and feeling watched, and on the last waking seeing the outline of a head outside a high living-room window. A morning search found no tracks besides their own, no vocalizations were heard, and the indoor dog remained quiet.

The witness was awakened around 3:30 a.m. by dogs barking in an outdoor kennel and went outside with a flashlight to investigate. She noticed movement near fruit trees by the driveway and saw a very tall figure that paused behind a tree before running uphill on two legs with swinging arms. The figure looked pale silvery-gray and shaggy, glanced over its shoulder, then leapt off the road down a steep embankment into brush. Next morning she found matted grass and a hole in the bramble where it left the road, but no clear tracks.

In July 2007 the witness and a companion were riding ATVs back toward camp in the evening when the witness noticed a low shape beside the trail. The creature briefly steadied itself with a hand on a tree and continued uphill without looking at the witness. Frightened, the witness finished loading quickly and left the area.

The witness parked his semi off the freeway to sleep around 3 a.m. with the truck off and windows open. He felt the truck shaken gently and then violently, then saw a large hairy upright creature take two strides into nearby young trees. While walking to a duck blind in the early morning, the witness and companions heard trees snapping and movement in nearby timber. Later, while walking back alone to the truck for shells, the witness again heard branches breaking and movement paralleling him that stopped when he stopped. When he raised his empty shotgun toward the sound, a loud long guttural scream echoed through the trees, which companions back at the pond also heard, terrifying the witness who ran to lock himself in the truck.

A couple days later in the same Idaho hunt, the group drove before dawn in snow and watched a dark stump-like shape widen and slide slowly across the road out of headlight range. Later that day they found giant five-toed tracks circling their parked vehicle, and the passenger who checked the roadside with a flashlight claimed it was a hooded hunter on horseback.

In late August 1973, two companions setting up a hunting camp at night heard loud screams, whistles, and brush thrashing around them and retreated into their truck cab. The witness then shone a spotlight toward the sounds and saw an erect, dark brown-to-black biped move rapidly up a steep rock slide on two legs. The witness later felt the animal had no intent to harm them.

The witness was riding in a pickup with a relative scouting timber in a steep mountainous area when a large hairy upright animal crossed the road in front of the truck. The animal came down one bank, crossed in a few fast strides, and went down the opposite slope out of sight while brush broke behind it. The relative stopped and got out with a rifle but could not relocate it.

As a young teenager bringing cows across a canal near dark, the diarist saw a large bear-like figure standing on hind feet by a sapling 600-700 feet away and felt intense chill. Cows were undisturbed and his father was unconcerned. Next morning with his friend [name withheld] he found a huge bare footprint in wet mud under the sapling, estimated 8.5-9 feet tall using [name withheld]'s height, and nearby found a stick-bed with a strong repulsive odor.

While eating lunch he heard a bark from behind, did a tree knock, and shortly after heard a tree being pushed over to his left.
