Years before the 2015 sighting, the witness and his brother stood outside their farmhouse at night listening to something moving through the woods between houses. They heard a loud howl they did not recognize as coyote, fox, or bobcat. They tracked the movement by breaking branches across a road to a power line trail, then heard a second much fainter howl from far away.

The guest's grandfather and his brother went squirrel hunting and split up in a small hunting area. The brother slipped over a fallen log and came face to face about a foot away from a huge hairy creature that showed its teeth and had hot, foul breath. He fired a sidearm at point-blank range then fled screaming to the grandfather, and both left in the truck. The brother reportedly never hunted or entered the woods again.

The witness went squirrel hunting with the stepfather in Middle Fort Bottom toward dusk. Something paralleled them in the woods, stopping when they stopped. When they stopped once, something nearby gave a very loud scream described like a tornado siren mixed with a distressed cow, and it continued to follow them until they reached the car.
Growl near Lisbon, Louisiana
The witness and two other children walked past a forbidden cattle guard toward the woods and smelled something like something dead. After a few more steps, something gave a deep guttural growl from the edge of the woods to their left. They ran back to the house and were scolded for going past the guard.

The witness and the same friend set up in a valley to call coyotes on a warm misty January night. A large green branch broke or was thrown down beside them and something large tore off in the opposite direction. They fled immediately and the witness later found the broken green limb.
Footsteps near Woodland Park, Colorado
The guest and two companions camped by a river while fishing and kept a stump burning in a fire ring overnight. Something heavy entered the camp and moved around the tent without approaching the fire. The group shouted, and the visitor eased back into the woods rather than running.

While staged for night gunnery on a military range, crews ahead reported a large person downrange moving across the firing lanes as seen through thermal sights. Range control halted firing for hours to search for anyone downrange. The guest did not see the figure directly and only listened over the radio.

While waiting on a porch after getting stuck hunting, the guest and cousin spoke with an older resident. She said that on the prior morning she had watched what looked like a stump in a clear-cut across from her house stand up and walk into the woods. She had thought it might have been a bear.

While driving the road below the house at night and rounding a corner, the witness saw red lights moving through the trees that looked like vehicle brake lights. There was no road in that direction where a car could have been. He remains unsure what the lights were.

A Ranger unit waiting in ambush for an opposing team during training smelled rotting meat and wet dog and watched a huge shadow approach. The figure proved to be a massive hairy biped about eight feet tall that walked through the ambush, paused as if acknowledging them, and continued into the woods.

The witness's father was driving home from a trade show in Las Vegas toward the desert town where he lives. A light followed the car, visible in the rearview mirror, keeping pace and stopping when the car stopped. He photographed and filmed it before it disappeared suddenly.

The second guest's friend reportedly stepped outside his house late at night to get firewood. He smelled a strong rank body odor mixed with wet dog and heard a howl-scream in the distance. The account was relayed secondhand by the guest, who was skeptical at the time.

At the base of the tree in murky water they saw a large heel-shaped depression with skin-line detail. They first suspected the grandfather had taken the rod as a prank, but he denied it.

Two friends squirrel hunting in a fenced former fox-training woods noticed total wildlife silence, then a foul odor, then a loud roar accompanied by a large pine falling in the distance. The ground shook when the tree hit and they fled to the grandfather's farmhouse. The grandfather laughed and used a local term for a wild hairy creature.
